This is one of the recordings from my Meditation for Strange Times series. I've created this series as every one of us, including myself, is feeling ups and downs no matter how hard we try to stay optimistic. Sometimes, we need refuge from these emotional roller coasters. Anxiety seems to show up more than others so I hope that, in some ways, this will be helpful for others.

This is a strange time.

A new time.

We find ourselves readjusting constantly.

From the food we eat to the way we speak to one another.

The way we create.

The way we think.

Often adjustment and at times it is difficult to tell what is the right way to even feel.

Worry and anxiety show up often especially at a time like this.

That quickened heart.

Fast and changing thoughts.

To do and must do lists.

Dark clouds of worry.

Never ending stories.

Right now stop.

Close your eyes and breathe.

Make your breath flow slowly and more fully.

Feel the alignment from the crown of your head straight down to the base of your spine.

For a moment the only thing that matters is breath.

If you have worries and anxiety just tell yourself I can do that later.

I have all the time to feel anxiety and worry so I will do that later.

For now I focus on my breath.

Keep your belly steady.

Your shoulders unmoved.

When you breathe in,

Imagine your lungs expanding in all directions even the backside.

Feeling from the bottom to the top slowly.

When you breathe out,

Let the air slowly drain out.

Let everything flow in and out.

You take in and watch it leave.

Simply observe as if you are a river.

Breathing and flowing.

Breath is our life force.

A bridge between mind and body.

The moment we start paying conscious attention to our breath,

Our body and mind receive more clarity,

More awareness.

Let your belly relaxed yet steady.

Breathing as you fill your lungs from the bottom to up.

Exhale slowly let the air come out of your nose draining your lungs.

Inhale again to fill your lungs.

Exhale drain your lungs.

Continue your breath exactly the same way.

Focused on your lungs movement in all directions.

As you breathe in and out,

Feel your lungs expanding and contracting from the front to the sides and the back.

Now let's start counting your breath.

Breathe in for 4,

And let your breath relax.

Return to your regular rhythm of your breath and observe.

Let your mind become spacious.

Let your body ground down.

Let your soul fill with peace.

And open your eyes,

Absorb your surrounding and lift the corners of your lips ever so slightly as if to say,

Here I am,

Here I am.

Today's practice is now complete.
