As you close your eyes,
I invite you to connect with your breath.
You don't have to change how you're breathing,
But just focus all your attention on the air that's moving in and out of you.
And although you're focusing on your breathing,
Be sure to remain relaxed,
Softening the muscles in your face,
Making sure that your shoulders are far away from your ears,
And that your hands are resting comfortably on your legs.
You're not forcing anything here.
You're not trying to create something.
You're simply noticing your breath and allowing it to be how it is.
Maybe notice how your breathing changes the moment you bring awareness to it.
Maybe take a few moments just to notice how you feel.
We spend so much of our energy looking outward,
And so I invite you to turn your gaze inward and notice what's alive in you.
Whenever you notice that your attention has gone away from your breath,
Away from the present moment,
Just notice where your attention is gone and without judging yourself and with lots of compassion,
Lots of patience,
Guide your attention back to your breathing.
Now if it feels right to you,
I'd like you to repeat the following affirmation.
I am patient with myself.
I am patient with myself.
Notice what sensations,
What feelings arise as you repeat the affirmation.
Maybe notice the thoughts that are present when you hear the word patience.
Being patient is about more than having the ability to wait calmly.
It's about more than showing restraint.
Being patient is also about grace,
Showing yourself grace,
Showing yourself compassion.
It's about trusting the process,
Trusting yourself,
Trusting the natural timing of things,
Knowing that not everything is within your control.
And so sometimes timing plays a crucial role in outcomes.
Take a deep breath in and slowly breathe out.
When you're patient with yourself,
You're not so focused on the end result,
But rather the present moment,
The journey.
You find fulfillment in what is here and now,
And it might not be exactly the way you hoped it would be.
It may be the complete opposite,
But you continue to learn and grow and adapt and even pivot,
Knowing that adding more pressure is not the answer.
Neither is being hard on yourself.
Take a deep breath in and slowly breathe out.
I am patient with myself.
I am patient with myself.
The music will end shortly,
But I invite you to stay in this posture,
To stay in this space for as long as you can.
Until next time,
Take care.
