This is an opportunity to begin again.
There's no need to judge yourself for what you haven't done or for what you haven't completed.
You might have promised yourself that you would eat better and exercise more often and get more sleep.
And maybe you were for a while,
But over time you kind of stopped.
How many good habits have you started but you've been unable to stick with?
You're not alone.
Sticking to the habits that we know will help us to thrive isn't easy.
But what's amazing about life and being alive is that no matter what,
You can always start over.
You can always begin again.
And so in this moment,
Connect with your breathing.
Notice the air that's entering and leaving your body.
And just observe how your body is breathing.
You're not forcing anything here.
You're allowing your natural breath to be as it is.
And you're simply choosing to observe it.
If ever your attention goes elsewhere,
It's not a problem.
Just gently guide it back to that area of your body where you notice your breath the most and begin again.
The more you sit in this way with this awareness of breath and a willingness to keep bringing your attention back to your breath whenever it strays,
The more you'll nourish your relationship with yourself so that you're more likely to accept your imperfections and give yourself permission to begin again throughout your day.
Continue to be aware of the air that is moving in and out of you.
You don't have to wait until tomorrow,
Or next week,
Or next month,
Or the start of a new year to begin again.
You can begin again right now.
Thank you for sitting with me.
See you next time.
