Why don't we begin by taking a nice deep breath in and slowly breathing out.
When you breathe in,
Tell yourself that you're inhaling ease and relaxation.
And when you breathe out,
Tell yourself that you're breathing out stress and tension.
Inhale ease and relaxation.
Exhale stress and tension.
Breathe at a rhythm that is comfortable for you.
Can you breathe ease and relaxation into every part of your body?
Giving yourself permission to fully relax and to be here,
Knowing that in this moment there is nothing that you need to accomplish.
You don't have to perform anything or reach,
Attain anything.
You can simply be here and notice what that feels like as you connect more and more with the air that's moving in and out of you.
Inner stillness is not something that you have to create.
In many ways,
It is the very nature of who and what you are.
The question is,
Are you willing to explore it?
There's so much happening around you and within you.
But as you continue to be aware of your in-breath and out-breath,
Perhaps you can sense the calm and peace that's always here,
Within you.
Imagine what your days would be like if you were able to accomplish all your activities,
All your doing from this place of stillness.
Can you imagine what that would look like or feel like?
I wonder if we think it's even possible to function in this fast-paced and hyper-competitive world from a place of stillness.
Take another deep breath in and slowly let that air out.
Even if the mind is very active and your attention has gone off into the future and past with different thoughts,
Even in the midst of all of this,
You can always come back here to your breath,
To stillness,
Where there's a deep appreciation for what is here and what is now.
If it feels right to you,
I'd like you to repeat the following affirmation.
I am returning to inner stillness.
I am returning to inner stillness.
Inhale deeply once again and slowly breathe out.
Enjoy your day.
