Welcome to your Christian meditation.

Today we'll be focusing on the healing benefits of water,

Both physically and spiritually.

I will be reading over two hymns that focus on the gift of this water,

The gift that we were giving on creation on the second day.

To begin,

Come into a comfortable position.

You can use pillows or blankets if that feels good to you.

Once you're comfortable,

You can close your eyes or keep them open.

Just keeping a soft,

Gazing eye.

Start to feel your breath moving through your body.

Feel your chest rising,

Your stomach expanding,

Your stomach falling,

Your chest deflating.

If you can't feel that,

It's okay.

Just know that with every breath,

God is moving in,

And with every exhale,

God is moving out.

A constant ebb and flow.

I invite you to visualize your breath as a wave of warm water.

This water is safe,

Without mystery.

I start slapping at your left toes,

Calf,

Thigh,

Up your left pelvis,

Stomach,

Chest,

Your left arm,

Hand,

Neck,

And head.

This wave swirls around your head and then slowly travels down your right side.

Down your head,

Neck,

Arm,

And hand.

Down your right chest,

Stomach,

Pelvis.

The warm water hits your right thigh,

Calf,

Toes.

Your breath is the wave,

And it's traveling in a warm,

Comforting circle around you.

The blazing energies of light,

Unleashed when God said,

Let it be,

Infusion formed the womb of life,

The rain clouds and the raging sea.

These parted each to its dominion,

Divided by the vault of sky.

Untamed,

Turbulent,

Unchecked.

Within them,

Life and death would vie.

Those waters clothed our planet home,

So terrible,

Yet so fair.

The gift without which all would cease,

Yet place so fragile in our care.

Both sign and sacrament of life,

Of love awash,

Poured out and fresh,

Engulfing all that sin would spawn,

While nurturing life and all the rest.

Thus evening came and morning came,

That second day when waters burst,

Both flood and freshness for our world,

Chase herald of our second birth.

The waters of our mother earth,

Her rivers,

Oceans,

Lakes,

And springs,

Are mirrors to the depths of God,

The freshness at the heart of things.

Our sister water,

Wondrous gift,

Can cleanse and cool,

Destroy and drown.

The mistress of both life and death,

Through her all living things are bound.

For Noah she was fearsome flood,

Whose rage not even God foresaw.

For Namin,

Seeking miracles,

Her modesty was cause for all.

Her currents held the Lord of life,

Abyss of death,

Baptismal tomb.

With blood she came forth from his side,

As breaking waters from the womb.

O Christ in whom we are baptized,

Washed clean,

Refreshed,

And sanctified.

Be praised for this our sister fair,

By whom we lived and whom we died.

Waters flow through scripture,

Both in spirit and physical.

Jesus is the living water and through him we can find healing.

Reconnect to your wave,

Feel it slowly ab out of you.

Up your left side,

Down the right.

Put it circle around a few more times.

Following your breath,

Cleansing you,

Healing,

Creating space for new things.

Start to return to your normal breath,

Letting the wave ride out.

Feel the contact with the floor,

Feel the firmness and the support.

Ground down,

Lift tall.

When you're ready,

If your eyes are closed you can gently open them or relax your gaze.

Thank you God for your gift of water.

Namaste.
