Welcome to your morning meditation focusing on the Lord's Prayer.
I'm going to invite you into an easy seat,
Legs tucked underneath you,
Palms resting open towards the sky on your legs.
Start to notice your breath,
Not changing it.
Just feeling your belly move and your chest rise,
Your belly deflate and your chest deflate.
Today I'm going to invite you to say the Lord's Prayer with me.
Focus on what God wants you to bring attention to.
Repeat after me.
Father,
Hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil.
For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.
Amen.
Let that settle into your heart.
Let it nourish your soul.
I want to draw notice to something.
In this prayer it says,
Give us this day our daily bread.
I think often we forget what trusting God looks like,
What letting go looks like.
When the Israelites were traveling in the wilderness,
God rained manna down.
He didn't give them enough to store it up for a couple weeks or even a day.
He only gave them enough for the moment and then the next moment.
This is what trusting God looks like.
Knowing that he's going to give us what we need and more.
But trusting him that he will provide,
He will give us our manna every day.
Every day there's a new portion for us.
The Israelites didn't just have it appear right before them either.
They had to go out and take it.
They had to go do the work,
Walk through the gate and say,
Yes,
Lord,
I believe in your provision.
I have faith in your provision.
I know you will give us our daily bread today.
What I want you to take away from this is that trusting the Lord often doesn't mean just sitting still.
It means stepping out on faith.
Going to collect his manna,
Sowing the seeds.
Start trusting in the Lord every day.
It's not easy,
Nor is it comfortable.
I want you to ask yourself,
What do you need to let go today with your palms open?
What do you need to let go to God?
Where do you need to trust him today?
Know that God is here with you.
Know that he dwells inside you.
Remember every day that he is providing for us,
That we only need enough for today.
And we need to have faith and trust.
Thank you so much for practicing with me today.
I pray that this helps nourish your soul and helps you start to think of ways that you can trust God more for your daily bread.
Have a blessed day.
