Venus In Gemini & Taurus New Moon = Persephone

Join me in inviting the Goddess Persephone two bring us a new perspective on cycles of life, death and rebirth. We are being invited to revisit and review our values in our behavior patterns, and to potentially plant new seeds for how we truly want to be in our life.

Hello and welcome.

Welcome to Everything is Energy and welcome to Venus in Gemini and the Taurus New Moon.

Those together have invited the presence of the goddess Persephone.

And while you might not connect all those dots out the gates,

Hang in there with me and hopefully this will be a wonderfully empowering and balancing session.

So let's begin with the Taurus New Moon on April 22nd.

It's happening at 7.

25 pm Pacific Time.

We have a new moon in Taurus.

During the time of this new moon we have a total of five planets in fixed signs.

This is telling us,

Inviting us energetically,

Reminding us to slow down.

To not go from one thing to another thing to another thing.

And I think that's definitely in the air right now.

And Taurus is an earth sign,

It rules our senses.

It's not only inviting us to get in touch with our own physicality but also our connection to our Mother Earth.

And as we are invited to slow down we are sort of ushered into the time to connect to our natural world,

To revisit that we are one with everything.

And so new moons are always times of new beginnings.

This is a perfect time to set a new intention,

To know that we are weaving our future into being.

We are attracting the exact frequency that we offer.

And so Taurus heightens the energy of the senses.

We get to really become sensitive to what we are offering and see if we can consciously cultivate stillness,

Peace.

And as we just drop into the ever present now,

Tuning into the simple rhythms of the earth,

Night and day,

New moons and full moons.

As our mind slows down,

Our lives slow down,

We really get to feel,

As Taurus is inviting us to be sensitive and feel,

What frequency are we offering?

Are we still habitually reaching for the next thing to pay attention to?

And it's worth noting that if we are in fear we are going to attract more fear.

Also if we can reach out and start to feel balance and love and well being,

We are going to attract just that.

And even more so I'm being shown if we can feel gratitude for the very simple and beautiful abundance that's present,

We will attract more of just that.

That is the message of this new moon.

Slow down,

Go inside,

Connect to the earth,

Connect to ourselves at an even deeper level than we've ever thought possible.

Connect to the frequency,

The vibration that we're offering.

We also have Uranus,

The sun and the moon in Taurus.

So with the presence of Uranus,

Uranus is going to shake up whatever Taurus feels stable about.

So Uranus is going to be shaking up our physical senses,

But it's for a higher purpose.

Uranus really wants us to evolve,

It wants us to become more conscious.

So if there's some ways that we've sort of settled into an old habit,

Uranus is going to be there sort of pushing our buttons a little bit,

Supporting us and becoming more and more aware of what we're doing,

What we're thinking,

How we're operating,

If we're still multitasking,

If we're still trying to run our lives in the same way that we did several weeks ago,

Uranus is going to be there to say,

Not so fast,

There's more evolution for you here,

Dig deeper.

And Venus is the ruler of Taurus.

Venus rules love,

Money,

Beauty,

Desire.

Venus moves into Gemini,

Well she's already moved,

She moved on April 4th.

Interesting to note,

She's going to be there for a very long time,

Until August 8th.

Usually she only hangs around in a sign for about four,

Maybe five weeks.

Venus is going to be in Gemini for four months.

How is this possible?

She's going to spend May 13th to June 25th in retrograde.

Gosh,

So Gemini is a sign that's curious,

Full of ideas,

Maybe seldom executes the ideas.

It's a charming,

Calculating,

Eccentric,

Quick-witted,

Good-humored,

Spontaneous air sign.

Venus and Gemini together are going to support us in new and deeper ways of communication with our relationships.

Mostly I'm being shown in becoming a little bit emotionally detached,

And this is also perfect because we are likely physically separated from at least some of the people that we love,

And it's going to help us to be more objective and willing to look at things from a higher level.

Instead of that autopilot,

As the Taurus New Moon was helping us not to just fall back into the next thing and the next thing and the almost addiction to being occupied and busy,

Here,

Instead of immediately assuming commitments and responsibilities in our relationships,

We're being invited to raise ourselves up and look with the bigger picture,

Look with the broader lens.

And Venus and Gemini together have this wonderful relaxed energy.

It's also very intellectually stimulating.

Not necessarily passionate,

But really interesting,

Really savory.

And this is perfect because Gemini loves to study and learn and teach information,

And this is the perfect time for online gatherings.

This is the perfect time for education and learning,

And many of us are likely doing just that.

I'll mention a course that I'm so thrilled about at the end of this broadcast,

But it's also interesting to note,

Just as kind of an aside,

But I think you'll find this on point,

Gemini has to do with wheels.

What has wheels?

Well,

In the old days,

Wagons,

But horses,

Well,

Horse wagons,

Sorry,

And cars,

And airplanes have wheels when they land,

And all the wheels are stopped right now.

Our skies are silent.

There's not that many cars in the road.

Gemini is also an air element.

So we might notice with this stopping all the busyness that our skies are clearer and cleaner.

So again,

This is just along the same lines.

We get to rethink and reevaluate during especially the retrograde time of May 13th to June 25th,

How we're transporting ourselves,

The journeys that we're taking.

And in modern society,

We've been conditioned to run around.

And energetically to me,

It feels very,

Not absent-minded,

But somewhat like that.

It's out of habit versus out of purpose.

And right now as the world stops,

We really get to look at what habits suit us and unplug the ones that don't.

And maybe going on autopilot from one thing to the next,

To the next,

To the next isn't in support of our highest good.

Right now as we're being invited to be still,

We get to consider what is our purpose?

What is our purpose as a human being incarnated on this planet right now?

Can we offer more to our earth,

To ourselves,

To our communities?

So we're being encouraged to reevaluate and also to really deeply connect with earth and nature and the cycles of nature and the natural world.

And here I want to invite Goddess Persephone.

She's associated with spring and with the rebirth of all things in the natural world.

And I want to offer a different perspective potentially from what many of us have been taught and likely in school or college.

Many of us know Persephone as a myth told in a hymn by Homer to Demeter.

And kind of like many ancient texts,

It's not necessarily the whole truth,

It's one person's interpretation of a more or less after the fact construction.

So this interpretation I'm going to offer is maybe not the most empowering for the goddess.

So let's just lightly touch on this myth in this Homeric hymn.

The story goes that Persephone's out playing in the fields,

Collecting flowers with her nymph friends.

She loves nature.

She's connected to nature.

And all of a sudden Hades,

The god of the underworld,

Burst up from the ground and snatches her.

And the earth closes behind him.

And so now she's taken to the underworld where she becomes or has to become his bride.

And her mother was Demeter.

Demeter and Persephone were often known as the two goddesses.

They were so super close.

You can imagine the type of relationship where a mother and daughter talk every day.

So as this version,

This Homeric hymn version goes,

Demeter becomes so distraught at the loss of a daughter,

She ceases to allow the crops to grow.

And Zeus,

Her husband,

Becomes distressed about this.

He realizes that the population of the earth isn't going to survive for long without crops.

So Zeus comes clean.

He realizes that he was the one that gave permission for the marriage.

And so he's the one that needs to fix this.

And he reaches an agreement with Hades.

And the solution is that Persephone will spend six months of the year with her mother above ground and six months with her husband in the underworld.

And this is because she'd eaten six pomegranate seeds while she was in the underworld.

So if you check out this version of the story,

Persephone is kind of like a pond just being passed back and forth.

We never really hear from her and we never really get a sense of her power.

I want to invite us to consider that perhaps instead of Demeter being the one who causes the crops to wither and who allows them to grow again,

It's Persephone.

It's Persephone's energetic presence that allows the crops to grow.

And it's her absence that brings us into winter.

So she's not just a pawn or a trigger.

She's the entire energetic reason.

She's the energy that calls it forth.

And so in this position,

She's the embodiment of the full cycle of life and death.

And she exists on her own.

She exists in relation to,

But also independently of,

Her mother and her husband.

So here she becomes something other than,

As I mentioned,

A pawn traded or bartered by the gods.

She becomes a figure of immense power.

And we also get to consider that Persephone potentially of her own accord,

Maybe it wasn't by abduction.

Maybe before she even met Hades,

She was already perfectly comfortable in the underworld.

And maybe there was no taking or whisking or rescuing.

Maybe Persephone knew that she's the queen of the underworld.

She spends six months out of the year in the underworld as her proper place because that is her role.

So gosh,

Sense this.

In the West,

We've been taught to fear death.

And as we're in this shelter at home,

There's still a lot of fear of transformation and death.

This goddess is the embodiment of the full cycle of life and death.

She herself can be seen as this source of wisdom,

This conduit through which this energy flows all the time.

And she knows that life-death cycles are necessary.

Every year,

She embodies this for us to remind us that we really can't have spring on the planet without winter.

We ourselves need to go inside and sequester,

So as to be ready to come out and bloom of our own accord.

So while Persephone is a goddess that's also concerned with vegetation and fertility,

She has intrinsic ties to the life and death cycle.

It's worth noting that her husband Hades is not the same person.

Hades doesn't really have a connection to the crops and vegetation.

He doesn't spend time very much at all in the earth plane.

He lives in the underworld.

He doesn't interact with earth people.

He's in charge with his wife in what happens after we leave our bodies.

Very much like Isis and Osiris,

Where Osiris is in the underworld,

Isis straddles both.

So moving easily between the world of living and the dead,

She's helping us to see the necessary connection between life and death.

It's a vital connection.

Let's consider that potentially Persephone as a goddess,

She existed long before this story came about.

That story is one person's interpretation of what happened to her.

And yes,

She was very linked to her mother,

But she was a goddess of her own accord.

It was her energy that caused the crops to come up from the earth and grow and thrive.

She also married Hades because she knew that she was also the goddess of the underworld.

All right.

So as with everything,

Check in and see whether or not that feels true for you.

These are always just offerings.

Let's get to a practice.

Imagine yourself outside somewhere,

Your favorite spot,

Somewhere where you like to go,

Where you just feel so connected to the earth,

So safe,

So comfortable,

So connected with nature and bring yourself there right now.

And if you're standing,

Feel your feet in the earth.

If you choose to sit or lie down,

Feel your,

Your sit bones or your back connect to the earth.

Feel yourself held by her,

Supported by her.

Hades pushing down,

The earth is right there firmly supporting you.

And then connect to the environment where you're at and just see if you can sense how the trees and the birds and the animals have likely already seen you as you are approaching.

They know you.

The trees are gently already energetically starting to wash your aura clean as they do.

The birds are singing,

The animals are noting your presence as if the soft but somewhat distant welcome giving you your space,

But connecting to you.

Notice how it feels to be safe,

Held,

Seen,

Connected,

And still.

And see if you can let yourself drop in just a little bit deeper.

Maybe you can just relax the muscles in your physical body,

Relax the muscles in your face.

Energetically,

You can release down to the earth any heaviness that might be in your field,

Just drop it.

And then nothing but stillness.

Nothing to do.

Simply connect to your breath,

But nothing to do with the breath right now.

Just simply being in this beautiful,

Natural environment.

Notice energetically what it's telling you.

Notice that the trees have always been in the same place,

Growing a little bit every year responding to the cycles of nature.

Notice the birds,

While some of them,

The larger raptors,

Might have a huge migratory path,

They are very connected to the energetic lines of the earth.

And the smaller birds make their nests,

The animals have their area that they call home.

And the only thing all of these beings are doing is simply existing.

And they're inviting you to come with them,

To just simply spend this time being alive,

Being in the natural world,

Being in your favorite place.

And just notice if the mind reaches for what's next,

Just gently let it,

Tell it,

Not right now,

Nothing to do,

So that you can spend the next little bit of time simply basking in this profound and simple energy of nature.

And now,

Being exactly,

Staying exactly where you're at,

Notice from the natural world,

From the meadow,

From the trees,

This beautiful goddess emerges and comes to stand before you.

She's got flowers in her hair and birds,

Doves flying around her,

One settles on her shoulder.

This is Goddess Persephone,

She's here in this natural setting with you.

First to support you in energetically understanding how connected you are to this space and this place.

And also how beautiful the cycles of life are.

She might have a message for you about the cycles of life and death.

This goddess who knows both and embodies both oh so well.

Helping you in releasing fear and in really becoming embodied and powerful just as she is connected to the natural world and completely comfortable with the cycles of time and of life and of nature.

So just notice if you have any questions for her or if she has anything to share with you right now.

So just be careful of yourself.

Wonderful,

And as a goddess who straddles both realms of the living world and the underworld,

You might invite her to visit you in your dreams as you sleep,

To gently,

Lovingly show you the ways that you might be ready for change,

So as to shine brightly.

This goddess is letting you know that she is you and you are her,

And she's literally modeling what you are able to be.

And she wants you to shine brightly.

She wants you to be big and beautiful.

She wants you to be powerful.

She wants you to find that same personal power within yourself,

Where you are the creator,

Where nothing happens to you.

You are powerful and in charge of creating your world.

Any last words?

Wonderful.

And now the goddess is just going to almost vanish back into the natural world that she emerged from,

And you're still in this natural,

Safe setting,

Surrounded by trees or a stream or a meadow,

Whatever your super secret,

Special place was.

You're still there.

And notice that all the animals and the trees and the plants want you to know that you can come here whenever you want.

They're here for you in this sanctuary,

And they want you to know that this is truly your home.

And then when you're ready,

Just slowly coming back into your body in the room where you're listening to this.

You might in your aura bring that natural setting with you so that it's around you all day.

You can imagine that you're in that forest or field,

Even if you're in your kitchen or your bedroom or your office.

Nature can transport itself.

Wonderful.
