Certain people can drain our energies if they disrespect our boundaries, trigger old wounds, or evoke our protectors. These experiences can leave us feeling depleted. This guided visualization will take help you to cleanse those negative energies, regain your vitality, and protect yourself from energetic parasites. This meditation incorporates soothing self-touch, polyvagal therapy, guided imagery, acceptance therapies, and self-compassion.

I'd like you to take a minute and just get yourself comfortable.

Adjust your posture,

Get yourself a pillow,

Get yourself a jacket or remove a layer of clothing.

We're gonna settle in for a brief guided visualization.

This visualization has to do with setting energetic boundaries.

So perhaps there's somebody in your life who maybe feels difficult or somebody in your life who maybe drains your energy or maybe is even aggressive towards you and yells.

And even if you love this person,

It can be really draining.

And so this meditation in guided visual experience is a way for you to nourish yourself and replenish anything that might feel extinguished or exhausted to really tend to that inner flame if you're dealing with someone who you love or maybe a co-worker or a friend or someone who you know.

It's really making it difficult for you to be the fullest expression of yourself.

And once you've gone ahead and gotten comfortable,

I want you to take the palm of your right hand and just gently take your fingertips and start to trace them along the skin of your opposite hand.

And gently in a figure eight motion or an infinity sign,

I want you to trace on your wrist just a few times.

And I'll give you a few seconds to be in that experience.

Once you're feeling that pleasant sensation,

Start to imagine yourself walking on a pathway,

Walking down a flight of stairs.

Whatever material comes to you is right,

Go with it and trust your intuition.

And every time you inhale,

I want you to pause on the stairs.

And every time you exhale,

I want you to take a step down.

And imagine yourself taking one step after another.

And each step,

The deeper you go,

The better you feel,

The more relaxed you are.

You're walking downwards and the relaxation is being released into your body.

Any tension that you feel,

Maybe in the jaw,

Maybe in the shoulders,

Maybe in the hips,

Feel free.

To adjust your posture as needed,

Let the body move as it wants to move.

Maybe swaying gently left and right or back and forth.

Maybe staying completely still.

And as you start to get in touch with your internal experience,

Getting in touch with what's coming up for you,

Let your intuition start to reveal a landscape,

A landscape that feels safe to you.

This could be a beach or a forest or a cozy cafe,

A favorite couch,

A comfy bed,

A top of a mountain,

In the arms of someone you love.

Start to look around yourself.

What other life is here?

What animals are here?

What do they sound like?

What do they look like?

And if it feels right,

You can put the palms of your hands on your legs and gently move your open-faced palm back and forth across the top of your thighs in a soothing motion.

Left hand forward,

Right hand back,

Right hand forward,

Left hand back.

Left hand forward,

Right hand back,

Right hand forward,

Left hand back.

And keep doing this motion as if your hands were footsteps.

And as you're noticing the animals,

Start to tune in to the other elements that are alive in this setting,

This place where you feel so safe,

So held,

So reassured,

So connected.

What kinds of plants are there?

What do they smell like?

What do they look like?

Do they make any sounds as you step by them or brush by them?

Or maybe there's a wind or a gentle breeze that blows through them.

And continuing to move,

Palms of hands flat on the thighs,

Left hand forward,

Right hand back,

Right hand forward,

Left hand back,

Left hand forward,

Right hand back.

And reverse,

Walking and walking.

And looking around this comfortable place,

This cozy place,

Start to find a place where it looks like it would be nice to sit and rest for a moment.

Finding a place or a vehicle or a vessel in which there's water.

It could be a lake,

It could be a waterfall,

It could be a kitchen sink,

It could be a shower,

A glass of water.

Taking your time to look around and locate the water and walk towards it and either stand or have a seat nearby.

And start to imagine,

Let your hands come to stillness,

No longer rubbing against your thighs.

Start to imagine the water and how light reflects off of the water.

And imagine splashing the water on your skin and if it feels right and intuitive,

Maybe even making that motion or that gesture with your body.

So reaching into the water and gently tracing your hands along your face to wash your face in the shower or if you're in a sink running the hands underneath the water.

You can actually rub your hands together gently,

Touching your skin and just imagine yourself washing off the energy of this person that is draining you.

And it could be several people,

It could be an ambiguous type of person or archetype,

Maybe it's somebody specific.

Start washing their energy off of you,

Tuning into your body,

Tuning in to where it feels most pungent,

Where it feels most potent and sliding your hands along that area in a gentle rubbing motion.

And as if you had a washcloth and you're physically washing away dirt from that area.

Instead you're washing away an emotional energy or an emotional feeling,

Like an emotional parasite from somebody else.

And I'll give you a few moments in silence to cleanse yourself and release this energy.

And it might even be helpful to imagine releasing this energy to a helper being or a spirit guide of the person whom you find difficult and draining.

Asking this person's spirit guide to take their energy back from you and hold it for them until they're ready to process it,

Because this is not yours.

And now for that silence that I promised.

Continuing to use an open-faced palm flat on your skin,

Gently washing away this person's energy and finding a place where that feels complete.

I'll give you a few more moments to complete that ritual.

And now I'd like you to imagine the sunlight warming your clean,

Glistening skin,

Dancing throughout your body all the way from your toes to the top of your head,

Lying out,

Warming you,

And filling you with light,

A light so bright that it radiates and forms a sphere around you.

Picture the light radiating out of you,

Out of your chest and hands and buttocks and thighs,

Your face,

The top of your head,

All the way down and out your spine,

The front of your legs,

The back of your legs,

The sides of your legs,

All around 360 degrees,

Emanating like a protective force field.

I want you to ground into your body and see what it feels like and how it feels to be held in this warm and soothing,

Protective light.

Take a note of it and fully embody it.

I want you to put your hand over your heart to seal in this sensation so that if you,

When you come out of this experience,

You come into contact with this draining person,

Type of person,

Group of people,

And you can put your hand on your heart and it can anchor you and transport you to this place of feeling grounded and connected.

I'll have to give you a few moments to let that sink in deeply.

And when you're ready,

Offer some gratitude for yourself,

And to the plants and the animals and the environment for allowing yourself to have this experience,

To any ancestors or spirit guides that have joined you,

And visualize yourself standing up,

Or if you're already standing,

Stretching and walking,

Walking back on that pathway,

Taking your hands open flat on the top of your thighs,

Opposite hand forward and bow and hand back and switching them as if you were walking back and forth,

Back and forth,

Approaching the staircase that led you here in the first place and beginning to walk up the staircase.

Each step that you take is another step towards feeling more awake,

More alive,

More ready to transition back into the outer world,

The external world,

And continue walking step by step.

As you inhale,

You step up a step.

As you exhale,

You stay still on the step,

Hands continuing to move back and forth as if they were stepping,

Sliding across the thighs,

Stepping up,

Feeling more and more awake,

Energy going through you,

Starting to wiggle the toes and the fingers,

Moving your hands from your thighs,

Setting the flood of the islands,

Flooding the islands,

Coming back into the room and adjusting,

Looking around,

And if you'd like instead to drift off into sleep,

You may do that as well.

Just continue resting.

And if you're choosing to stay awake,

Take a stretch,

Make a posture in a way that feels intuitive,

And look about the room,

Settling your eyes on something peaceful.

And when you're done,

Close your practice with a slight bow forward.

This was a perfect visualization guidance for me because it gave me options to create to cleanse myself from the relationship that has felt parasitic for years. As I’ve experienced physical symptoms that I suspect have been related, I look forward to seeing those healed as well. Blessings of Gratitude 🙏🏻
