Hello beautiful soul,

Welcome to the Simply Joyful Journey podcast.

Meditations and musings for a Simply Joyful Journey.

Settle in and let's begin.

Breathe.

Just one word.

So simple.

So clear.

Really the only word we need to hear.

When we find ourselves deep in chaos or things don't appear to be going our way,

Just pause and take a moment to breathe.

Let's begin by closing our eyes and taking a cleansing breath.

Breathing in through our nose.

Taking a full deep breath.

Exhaling through our mouths.

Allowing our bodies to soften.

You may like to place your hands on your lower belly.

As you breathe,

Feel your belly expand.

Let's inhale again through our nose.

Feeling our belly expand.

And exhale through our nose.

Allowing your body to soften and relax even more.

Inhale.

Taking a full deep breath.

And as you exhale,

Allow your exhale to be slightly longer than your inhale.

Breath is one of the most important factors in life as well as in meditation.

Our breath comes with us everywhere we go.

Breath is a constant.

We need to breathe to live.

Our breath can be thought of as our life force.

Spirit moving through us with each inhale and exhale.

When we die,

We stop breathing.

Our breath leaves our body.

Our life force,

Our soul,

Our spirit,

Our breath ceases to be in our physical bodies.

Our breath connects us.

We share the air on this planet with other humans as well as with animals and plants.

Breath is what connects us all.

It also connects us to the present moment.

We are always and only ever breathing in this moment.

The breath that you are taking in this moment is happening now.

Not five minutes ago.

Not yesterday or tomorrow.

It is happening now.

Even though we are all connected through breath,

We each have our own individual song.

We each have our own journey.

We will experience moments in our own way.

We will have our own unique song.

Think of your breath as the theme song of your life.

Do you tend to take full conscious breaths or do you take more quick shallow breaths?

Your breath creates the beautiful music that is your life.

It is the partner that will be with you through this amazing adventure in your body.

Create a relationship with it.

Befriend it.

Be curious.

You may be amazed by what you discover.

Breath is a great focal point or anchor for our meditation practice.

So often our minds are lost in thought.

We are often reliving the past,

Wrapped up in fretting about what may or may not happen in the future.

Our breath is always here and now.

When we find our thoughts wandering,

We can gently bring our focus back to our breath,

Our present moment,

Our song.

Let's take a moment to listen to the song of your breath.

Breath is a great focal point or anchor for our meditation practice.

Be sure to take full conscious breaths.

Whether in formal meditation practice or in your day-to-day life,

We can always rediscover our breath and with it the present moment.

If you find your attention drifting towards your thoughts,

Gently bring it back to your breath.

Notice in your days when you begin to tense your muscles or you begin taking shallow breaths,

You may even notice yourself holding your breath.

When you find this is so,

Take a moment to pause and breathe into the tight spaces in your body,

Relaxing and releasing the muscles.

Breath is a great focal point or anchor for our meditation practice.

When you are ready,

Gently open your eyes.

Breathe.

Smile.

Beautiful work.

Remember that you can access your breath,

Your beautiful life song at any time.

Thank you for taking this time to connect with your beautiful soul,

Sending you love,

Light,

And wishing you a simply joyful journey.

Really enjoyed this meditation. Especially the bit at the begining about how important the breath is. Even though we know this to be true, having it relayed in the way you described at the start made it very special. Thank you 🙏
