Let's imagine that we are diving into this huge ocean.
And in the ocean there are all of these colors and lights and sensations and experiences and depths and curves.
And we see this one beautiful fish.
And we start to swim after that fish because something about it is very intriguing.
And all of a sudden after a while that we've been following this fish,
We start to lose sight of the rest of the ocean.
Now it's not to say that the fish is any more important than the rest of the ocean.
It's not to say that this fish has more weight or more value.
It's of equal importance as the rest of the ocean.
That's what we do on a regular basis is we have an experience,
We're feeling frustration or we're thinking about something.
And for some reason it's like the fish,
These thoughts,
Take more precedence and more importance.
We give more value to them than the rest of reality that's happening as we're sitting and experiencing those thoughts.
It's like what I'm thinking about right now is more important than the blue sky that's still here.
What I'm thinking about is more important than the sounds in the background.
But that's not really the truth.
Our thoughts aren't necessarily more important than anything else.
They're of equal value.
And so during this meditation today we're just going to explore the experience of taking the importance off of our thoughts and creating equality across the board of whatever we're experiencing.
So let's roll the shoulders back instead of tall.
And start to allow the mind to rest.
No need to do anything.
Just allowing the mind to witness the full experience that's occurring beyond the mind.
Start to recognize the sounds that might be arising.
Notice any sensations arising in the body.
And see if we can just allow them all to be equally as important.
Everything that's being experienced in this vast ocean around us is of equal importance.
And without trying to change anything,
Just allowing whatever is to be as it is.
If a thought comes,
Notice the thought.
If a sound comes,
Notice the sound.
Just recognizing that everything around us,
This vast experience,
Is all available to us.
It's all accessible to us.
If we just stop following one of the fish.
Softening the awareness.
And even greater allowing.
And even greater resting.
No need to label,
No need to identify the experience.
Rather just allow the experience to communicate with you.
In this unfathomable,
Ungraspable language.
This unfolding of experience in front of us,
Around us,
Within us,
Above us.
This continues to occur.
It's like we're in a non-stop,
Miraculous wonderland of experience.
It never stops.
It never seems to go away.
It's always right here.
The ocean is always right here.
We're in it.
We are in it.
Taking one last moment.
To fully recognize the vastness.
How indescribable it truly is.
All of these sensations and sounds.
We'll take a deep inhale and exhale to release our practice.
Deep inhale.
It's always here.
Bring our hands to heart center.
We're feeling cold.
We can just take a moment to truly acknowledge everything that is right now.
Just sit in the spaciousness.
The enlightened me sees and honors the enlightened in each and every one of you.
That's the אבל un haame.
