This guided visualization will help you to overcome obstacles that are presenting themselves within your life. You will be guided through self-compassion, self-awareness, and self-understanding so you can perceive this obstacle as something that is working with you rather than against you. Like water, you are flexible and able to navigate around this obstacle.

Transcript

To begin,

Sit in a comfortable position,

But instead of closing your eyes immediately,

Keep them open for a moment.

Look around your space,

Notice the objects,

The textures,

The shadows and the light.

As you observe,

Take a deep breath in and acknowledge that just like these objects in the room,

The obstacles in your life are present,

But they do not define the entire space of your experience.

Now gently close your eyes,

Trusting that you can move through whatever appears before you.

Take a few deep breaths,

And on your next inhale,

Imagine yourself standing at the edge of a river.

The water is clear,

Flowing steadily,

Moving around rocks and branches that occasionally block its path.

These obstacles don't stop the river,

They become part of its journey.

The river adapts,

Flowing over,

Around or even under whatever stands in its way,

Always moving forward.

It is patient,

Never rushing,

And yet it reaches where it needs to go.

Now as you sit here,

See yourself as the river.

The obstacles in your life,

Like the rocks and debris in the river,

Are part of the landscape,

But they do not stop you.

Feel the flow of your breath,

Steady and constant,

Just like the current of the water.

With every inhale,

Gather your strength,

And with every exhale,

Feel yourself flow past the challenges before you.

Imagine a recent obstacle in your life,

A worry,

A challenge,

A fear,

Becoming one of the rocks in the river.

Notice its shape and size,

But do not resist it,

Feel your inner current adjust.

Like water,

You are flexible,

Able to navigate around or even embrace this obstacle.

With each breath,

You feel the ease of this movement,

Recognising that you too can shift and adapt without losing your path.

As you continue to flow,

Allow the water to take you wherever it needs.

Sometimes it speeds up,

Sometimes it slows down,

But it never stops.

Trust this flow,

Trust that just like the river,

You have the power to move through every challenge with grace and strength.

There is no need to force or fight,

You are fluid,

Adaptable and unstoppable.

Feel the sense of calm as you move past these obstacles,

Knowing that each one shapes your journey without stopping it.

Breathe in this freedom,

The peace of knowing you are like the river,

Always moving forward no matter what lies in your path.

When you're ready,

Take a deep breath in,

Filling yourself with this sense of flow and possibility.

As you exhale release any lingering tension or resistance.

Trust in your own capacity to move through life's obstacles,

Just as the river flows effortlessly towards the ocean.

Open your eyes whenever you feel ready,

And carry this sense of fluidity and strength into the rest of your days and weeks.

Remember,

You are like water,

Flexible,

Resilient and always moving forward.
