To move into new cycles of life, just as the leaves on a tree during Fall, we need to let go of what no longer is necessary to grieve and begin anew. This visualization invites you to welcome the wisdom of your body and imagination to release into water what your center knows you need to let go of, even if your mind does not.

There are times in our lives when there is something we are holding on to that we know we need to surrender.

Depending on the season that you are in as you approach the next season,

You may feel it is time to shed your leaves.

And it's not to say that those things did not serve you,

Perhaps it's a belief,

A person,

A way of being.

It is to say,

In order for you to continue to evolve,

To grow,

To be in congruence with your being,

You need to release it,

Even if you are unsure of what it is.

This meditation,

This visualization is about release.

So first I want you to find a comfortable sitting,

Walking,

Or laying posture.

Take a couple inhales and exhales through the nose and mouth,

Whatever feels most comfortable to you.

We'll do three at your own pace.

Can you settle into your body?

Can you feel the rise and fall of the edges of your body as you breathe,

Reminding you of this oscillation of this movement,

Of your presence in the here and the now.

With your next inhale,

I want you to imagine your breath going from the base of your body all the way to the top,

Whatever that means for you.

Feel it reminding you of the up and the down of the breath.

Maybe you lengthen that breath or lengthen even the up and the down to root you into the earth,

Into the now,

Knowing you are held,

Knowing you are safe.

You can stretch your arms wide just to take a moment to feel your width.

Maybe roll your shoulders,

Wiggle your fingers,

Roll your arms a bit just to feel into the width of your body.

You can bring your hands down,

Just arriving.

I want you to imagine what you are wearing right now in your imagination.

Picture yourself as you are right now.

What does it feel like to have what you have on?

What are the colors and the textures that make up your current fit?

How is your hair?

Once you have that in your imagination,

I want you to imagine yourself in an outdoor scene.

You are alongside a creek or stream or river,

Just some moving body of water that is contained.

Maybe you are in the mountains and you can see the slope of the land.

Maybe you are in a rainforest and you can feel the humidity of the air.

Maybe you are in a different place.

You can see the trees.

Maybe you even play with this scene and the trees are not green but pink.

Allow yourself the time,

The playfulness to create a scenery where you are alongside a body of water in nature as you are in this moment.

Notice the colors and textures you see.

Notice the sounds around you.

Notice the temperature and how you feel where you are.

Maybe you walk along the stream for just a moment,

Taking it all in,

Breathing.

In your next moment,

I want you to find yourself a comfortable spot next to the stream,

The river,

The creek,

The water.

Take a moment to acknowledge that you are here to offer the water something to carry for you to release into the water so it may flow downstream.

The water is generous.

The water is alchemizing.

The water is welcoming you in whatever you have to offer,

Trusting and knowing that whatever you give this water,

It will receive it,

Make it anew and give you the ability to release what you have revealed needs to be let go.

You take each hand of yours and put it in your pockets.

Right hand in right pocket,

Left hand in left pocket.

You feel for two things or one thing,

Multiple things that are ready or needing to be released for you at this time.

You pull them out of your pockets and you hold them in your hands for a moment,

Looking at their shape.

Perhaps it's amorphous,

A blob that continuously changes shape.

Perhaps it's a picture frame with an image of someone who are ready to let go.

Perhaps it's a toy,

A charm,

Something that has significance.

Trust yourself in knowing that these two items or multiple items or single item is what needs to be released,

Even if you don't know what they represent.

Notice their color,

Their shape,

The weight.

How does it feel in your hand?

If you feel scary,

You can open your eyes for a moment just to resettle yourself where you are.

When you're ready,

You can come back.

Once you feel like you have a good enough awareness of the items in your hands,

Maybe not knowing what they represent,

But knowing what they look like and feel like,

I invite you to let them go into the water,

Thanking the water for allowing you to release,

Allowing you to let go,

Listening for whatever the water has to share with you about this.

Notice what this brings up for you.

What is going on in your body,

Your chest,

Your gut,

Your hips,

Your hands,

Your throat,

Your ears,

Your feet,

Noticing without judgment or meaning making.

Take another three inhales and exhales gently and compassionately with yourself.

Maybe you add sound.

When you're ready,

You can bow or close this moment with the water,

With the scene,

Thanking yourself for doing this,

Thanking yourself for releasing,

Thanking yourself for being with yourself and the elements that carry you.

As you continue throughout this day,

Throughout this week,

Allow the meaning of this to unfold,

Not forcing anything,

But acknowledging and noticing what happens from here on forward.

May you be happy,

May you be healthy,

And may you be well and peaceful.

Thanks.
