Today's meditation is called Soft Heart,
Open Mind,
And it's inspired by one of my own spiritual teachers,
Richard Rudd.
He's a creator of the Gene Keys and a philosopher and an amazing meditation teacher.
And this meditation is inspired by a really simple journey into the softness and intelligence of your heart.
I love this focus on softness and openness because in our world,
There are so many challenges,
So much resistance,
So many edges,
And we come up against them constantly in our day-to-day lives.
But when we practice softness,
And openness and receiving.
And allowing,
Then we can meet these hard things,
These challenges,
Without it being so all-encompassing,
So difficult.
It actually makes a lot of these challenges a lot easier.
And simpler and it helps us to move through them faster.
And so this practice of softening the heart and opening the mind,
It might seem deceptively simple.
But it's such a powerful way to approach the world,
Approach your life.
And hopefully after practicing this,
You can carry a little bit of the softness you find,
A little bit of that openness out into the world,
Out into your life.
And share it with those who are in your circle.
Share it with anybody you come across today.
So just coming into whatever position you want to be in,
Whether that's seated,
Standing,
Or laying down.
Just beginning by taking Maybe a nice big stretch.
Or maybe you want to stretch out through your neck or through your hip.
If you're already feeling like.
.
.
It's going to be difficult to stay still in today's meditation.
Maybe just take a moment and shake it off,
Shake it out.
Release some of that.
Stuck,
Stagnant energy.
And throughout the meditation today,
If you ever feel called to move.
Feel free to follow that nudge.
It's not really a meditation where you need to be still.
Or hold a position.
It's free flowing and.
I want you to feel that if you want to adjust or move or change however you're sitting,
Standing,
Laying down,
You can.
And we'll begin just by closing your eyes.
And placing one or both hands over your heart.
So placing One or both hands on your chest.
And just beginning to feel your heartbeat.
Feeling that steady rhythm of your heart.
Beneath your hand.
Just begin to invite your heart.
To soften.
Soften your heart.
And that might feel.
Or be a little bit different for each of us.
Just see what happens.
As you invite your heart.
To soften.
Feel the rhythm of your heart.
Feel the press of the beats against your hands.
And the gentle connection.
Between the palms and the chest.
And see if you can soften just a little bit more.
And as you.
.
.
Continue to invite your heart.
Soften.
See if you can allow that softening to start to spread.
Through your chest and shoulders.
Your arms and hands.
Soften between the shoulder blades and down your back.
Soften your belly.
Feel the rhythm of your heart.
As you continue to allow that softening to spread down your hips and your legs.
Down your knees,
Chin.
Into your feet.
Your toes.
Heels.
Softening your heart.
And your whole body softens.
And respond.
Come back to that rhythm of your heartbeat.
Slowly begin to draw your attention up into your mind.
Feel the steady flow of thoughts.
And maybe notice that they've become quieter as we've softened the body.
And with our mind,
We're going to just gently invite our mind to open.
So as if our mind is contained in a box.
And we're just going around and knocking all the walls down.
So all the thoughts inside of our head can fly out.
And new ones can fly in but they don't stay long.
Opening your mind and softening your heart.
Just allow your whole body.
Continue to soften.
And open.
Layers of hardness and edges peeling away.
As you surrender to the softening.
In the opening.
Softening and opening the heart.
And opening and softening the mind.
And if ever you get lost and your thoughts.
And sensations in your body.
Just coming back to that rhythm of your heart.
That steady pulse.
Always in the background.
Keeping us alive.
Keeping us moving.
And as we come to the end.
Of this very simple meditation.
Just softly bringing your hands and.
.
.
Running them across your legs and across your body.
Softly touching your belly.
Arms,
Shoulders.
Softly touching your face.
And softly waking your body back up and looking around your space.
With soft eyes and a new perspective.
And as you just gently begin to come back into the rhythm and flow of your day.
Just remember to hold a little bit of that softness in your heart.
Hold a little bit of that openness in your mind.
And carry it out into the world.
Seeing your friends.
Your co-workers and everyone you interact with today through a soft lens.
And see how it changes.
The rhythm and the flow of your day.
