So if you're struggling to visualize,

This is a common thing that I've heard many students and clients over the years mention,

Oh I can't visualize,

I can't do visualizations,

I find it difficult to picture something in my mind.

Now some people can find it easier than others,

Though having a really clear picture is actually not the key,

It's not the thing that really makes the difference.

Of course it can be helpful and if we're wanting to send information to our unconscious mind,

The unconscious works through symbolism and pictures as well as other things,

So it can be helpful,

Though it's not the only thing and there are some ways that we can make it a lot easier.

So I wanted to share a simple thing that you can do if you're struggling to visualize and have a clear image in your mind when you're doing guided visualizations.

Notice what other senses you can connect to,

So for example we have what we can see,

What we can hear,

What we can feel,

What we can smell,

What we can taste and some people have what we call a preferred representational system,

So one or two senses that we connect to more easily compared to others and this can vary from situation to situation,

Though it's interesting to notice if for example someone is very connected to how things feel,

Sensations,

And you're doing a guided visualization process and they take you to a beach or a garden or there's some setting that this visualization process is based on,

Focus on the sensations,

How do you feel there or how would you feel on the beach or in the forest or wherever this is based,

What do you notice,

What sensations,

What would it feel like to have the warm sunshine on your skin,

What would it feel like to notice the gentle breeze against your skin or some people may be very connected to sounds,

So what does it sound like as you walk through a forest,

What does it sound like when you hear the wind through the trees,

What does it sound like as you walk on the beach and see the waves crashing against the shore,

Noticing what other senses you can connect to can really bring that visualization to life and above all it's the intention that's the most important thing,

That you're planting that seed,

Setting that intention to connect to this process,

This experience within your mind that then communicates with your unconscious mind to then promote change,

First notice what other senses you feel more connected to and that are easier for you to access,

Focus on those first and then lead your way through those into the visualization and into starting to bring in the pitches,

So for example if sound is something that comes easy to you then notice what it sounds like to walk through a forest and hear the gentle bird song,

Look up,

Notice the birds,

Hear their song,

What do they look like,

What color are they,

So notice how i've gone from focusing on the sounds to then focusing on the image and obviously if you're doing a guided visualization process that someone else is guiding you,

You are dependent on whatever the other person is guiding you through and how they word it and what language they use,

So this can be a simple tip that you can have awareness about and you can always add and enhance your visualization experience,

Whether that's one that you do by yourself or listen to someone else's audio to make it a little easier and know this,

That your unconscious mind is always recording,

Is always absorbing whatever it needs,

So even if the picture is not super clear,

Even if you think you haven't got it perfect,

That's okay,

Set the intention and trust that your unconscious mind is receiving exactly what it needs in this moment and by connecting to another sense can be the gateway into creating a wonderful visualization experience.
