Begin to focus on a thought or a body sensation that is currently causing you pain or distress.
If you're focusing on a thought,
Notice where you feel the distress in your body that goes along with that thought.
Concentrate on the feeling in your body.
If the feeling had a shape,
What would it be?
And if it had a size,
What would that be?
Notice if that feeling has a color,
A certain temperature,
Or maybe a specific texture.
Notice the sound of that feeling.
Is it high-pitched or low?
Now consider which of your favorite colors you might associate with healing.
Imagine that this favorite colored light is coming in through the top of your head and directing itself at the shape in your body.
Let's pretend that the source of light is the cosmos.
The more you see,
The more you have available for healing.
The light directs itself at the shape and penetrates and permeates it,
Resonating and vibrating it all around.
As it does this,
Notice what happens to the shape,
To the size,
Or to the color.
Continue allowing that healing light to move in and around that shape in your body.
Everywhere that the light touches,
Tension dissolves.
Everywhere that the light touches,
Pain and distress releases.
Allow that light to dissolve as much of the tension or pain that it can today,
Allowing it to be released from your body.
Use your breath to help your body release.
As you breathe in,
Breathe in more of the healing light,
Allowing it to break up and dissolve the tension or pain.
As you breathe out,
Release that tension or pain.
As the light continues to direct itself to that area,
You can allow the light to come in and gently,
Easily fill your entire head.
Now allow it to descend through your neck,
Into your shoulders,
Down your arms,
Into your hands,
And out your fingertips.
Now allow it to come down your neck,
Into the trunk of your body,
Easily and gently.
Allow it to descend through your hips and into your legs.
Allow it to stream down your legs and flow out your feet.
Take one or two more deep breaths and release any remaining bits of tension.
When you feel ready,
Bring your awareness back to this present moment.
Deepen your breathing,
Move your hands and feet,
And welcome your body back gently,
Ready to go about your day.
