Welcome,
Namaskaram.
Thank you for sharing this space with me,
This space of presence and possibility.
My name is Elliot,
I will be your guide for this meditation.
In this meditation,
I will guide you into a deeper observation of your inner world where your honesty is not something you force,
But something that naturally arises when you are willing to look without resistance.
If you are ready,
Let us begin.
Wherever you are in the world right now,
You have chosen to pause.
You have chosen to turn inward.
That choice alone is powerful.
This meditation is simple,
It is gentle,
It is for everyone,
Whether this is your first time sitting or your thousandth.
Find a comfortable seated position.
You may sit on a chair with both feet on the floor or cross-legged on the ground.
Keeping your spine tall but not rigid,
Let your hands rest comfortably.
If it feels safe to do so,
Gently close your eyes.
Let us start by gently tuning into the breath.
Become aware of your breathing and allow it to deepen slightly.
Breathing in through the nose and out through the nose.
Allow the world to fade slightly into the background.
Allow the outside world to fade slightly into the background.
Before we continue,
I would like to share a quote.
The first step to the good is to be authentic.
The first step to the good is to be authentic.
This quote reminds me that authenticity is not something we perform.
It is something we uncover on our way to the truth,
The good stuff in life.
There is a common idea that being authentic means always being honest.
But if you look closely,
You may notice that sometimes you feel authentic even when you are not fully truthful.
And sometimes you try to be honest,
But it feels disconnected.
Authenticity begins not with what you say,
But with what you are willing to see within yourself.
What matters the most is becoming more aware of your inner states and being true to ourselves.
Let us experientially explore this topic.
Gently bring your awareness inward.
Notice what is present within you right now.
Not what should be there,
Not what you want to be there,
But what is actually here.
Are there emotions sitting quietly beneath the surface?
Just observe.
And as you observe,
Notice this.
The way you speak to yourself.
Are there moments when you tell yourself something that is not entirely true?
Perhaps to feel safer.
Perhaps to maintain a certain image.
Perhaps to avoid discomfort.
Now,
Without judgment,
Simply acknowledge what is real for you in this moment.
This moment be exactly as it is.
This is honesty.
Now ask yourself gently,
If I were not trying to appear a certain way,
If I were not trying to protect an image,
What would I actually feel right now?
And let whatever comes up,
To come up.
No need to analyze it.
Just let it be seen.
If I were not trying to appear a certain way,
If I were not trying to protect an image,
What would I actually feel right now?
As you begin to see more clearly,
Something subtle begins to shift.
There is less effort.
Less internal friction.
Before we close,
I would like to share a quote by Carl Rogers.
The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am,
Then I can change.
The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am,
Then I can change.
Let those words settle within you.
Because authenticity is not something that you achieve with force.
It is something that naturally unfolds when you are willing to see and accept what is here.
Notice that you are supported by the ground beneath you.
Notice that you are breathing without effort.
Gently wiggle your fingers,
Roll your shoulders softly.
And if your eyes are closed,
You can slowly open them when you are ready.
Notice how you feel now compared to when you began.
Meditation is not about escaping life.
It is about meeting it with clarity.
Even five minutes of presence can shift your entire day.
Imagine what a consistent daily practice can do.
Thanking yourself for showing up.
Carry this steadiness with you.
And remember.
