In episode 5 of the Lucky Mantra Podcast, we talk about how intention, discipline, and daily spiritual practices shape our creative process and help us bring the music we’re meant to share into the world. We look at how to balance structure and flow, and how routines, conscious effort, and inner alignment can turn inspiration into finished songs and mantras. Key topics include setting clear intentions before creating or performing, building sustainable creative habits without burning out, the spiritual side of discipline and how it supports authentic expression, using music as a daily tool for manifestation and inner alignment, and real stories about staying consistent on the path of conscious artistry.

What's the essence of chanting mantras?

To me,

The essence of chanting mantras is to go beyond yourself and for a while forget your I,

Me and mine bubble that we are living in most of our lives and most of the time.

So it's about.

.

.

Forgetting your life,

Your problems,

Your status.

And connect with something deeper inside of yourself that's the divine you can call it the divine or Spirit,

Whatever you want to call it.

And find this connection inside of yourself.

Yeah and let that bit carry you into looking beyond your own plate,

So to speak.

That's what he said anyway.

I think you said it all,

Richard.

It just wasn't very simple.

Sentence.

I think what really happens is I think what we're also talking about it's not only the essence or I think for me it's why do I do it you know I could also sing some a pop song or what is the difference in singing a pop song and singing something that is dedicated to higher consciousness,

Spirit,

Or the divine.

And I think it's the remembrance that comes with it.

I mean,

We,

For example,

We chant some mantras,

You know,

We do chant mantras that have a different language that's comes from a different country and that's very helpful because by chanting it you're just rehearsing,

You're saying words that you literally don't maybe understand sentence by sentence,

Word by word as you would in your own language.

And then,

But by,

Because the words can be so powerful,

Particularly if you sing a Sanskrit mantra,

Let's say that,

Or you're kind of calling a name of a god or goddess,

An ancient god or goddesses,

It can,

It has a certain vibration because a lot of people are calling the same divinity.

You know,

If you call to Jesus,

Or if you call to Kali,

Krishna,

Hanuman,

It's been sung to so many times.

A certain energy behind it and that energy kind of visits you in you connecting with it.

That's at least the experience of chanting mantras for me.

While you can have the same essence,

Odds are writing a song around the divine,

I mean,

In your own language.

How do you see that?

What do songs that have a spiritual connection?

Like let's say,

Maybe some people just know songs from church or anything that have become like,

You know.

Famous Christmas songs or you know like we all sing same songs sometimes around.

A celebration of the divine.

Yeah,

To me it's about.

.

.

Singing beyond any concept or religion.

You don't need a religion to have an experience of God or higher consciousness or yourself.

It's absolutely not necessary.

To me it's also.

.

.

It doesn't matter how you're feeling,

If you're just chanting,

If you're feeling great.

That's not a good practice,

In my opinion.

You chant and no matter how you're feeling,

You do it.

And this also develops courage and willpower.

Because if you're just doing things that feel good and that are nice and that make you feel ecstatic,

That's not the real thing.

Life is not always great,

Ecstatic and lovely.

But you have to be present and also deal with the other things.

And then.

.

.

You know what your practice was for,

Yeah.

Because if you are having a hard time,

You need to remember.

This heart inside of yourself.

Yeah,

Or then that activates inside of yourself that's more like.

.

.

What happens,

I think.

It activates the remembrance,

But you have to build the bridge.

In the good times you build the bridge,

In the bad times.

.

.

And I think,

In general,

The best thing you can do is deal with what is.

If it's great,

Yes,

Great.

If it's not great.

.

.

Not great,

But still we fit anyways.

But are you saying that people shouldn't be enjoying the music?

I mean I see people leaving our gigs,

You know,

Like really in a very happy state.

Now I hear you saying,

You know,

This kind of music shouldn't just make you feel good.

What are you really saying?

What I'm saying is deal with what is.

If it makes you feel great,

Enjoy it.

If it brings you down the rabbit hole inside of yourself and you just feel all this stuff coming up,

Then deal with this.

But it's not about,

You cannot force an experience.

I have to feel good now.

I have to be happy.

That's,

In my opinion,

All nonsense.

You deal with what is and how you're feeling in the moment.

It's a form of meditation because if you're doing the chanting over a longer time,

It doesn't give you time to talk to somebody else or analyze it or anything,

But it kind of sets you into a state of mind and being where you really actually have to experience yourself in this world.

Yeah,

To me it's not a positive thinking method or something like this.

Connecting me with a deeper place inside of myself.

Seductive part.

This is the part I feel drawn to,

This deeper part,

And it's not necessarily joyful or ecstatic,

But it's true.

That's the best I can explain it.

It's so true that it attracts.

Me to go there.

Hmm.

Do you have,

Maybe we can.

.

.

Give an example what mantra has done to us and you know why it works maybe you have you can share your story about one of the mantras he's saying to help you.

Let's say it like this in a very dark time of my life.

Um.

.

.

The Hanuman Chalisa came to me and then I started connecting with it.

I started chanting it more and more.

And from that moment on.

.

.

Not that it was always easy,

But.

.

.

My life improved immensely and got me to a deeper,

Truer place until this point in time than I was ever before,

Than I've experienced ever before.

And I think for a lot of people if you find something that connects you with this deeper power.

Or deeper form of consciousness you can hold on to,

This is the biggest safety net and relief you can have.

In your life.
