Meditation has fundamentally transformed my attachments and habits.
Of course,
Eradicating bad habits has gone hand in hand with nutrition,
As we eat every day,
Often multiple times a day.
To start,
I want to share with you a formula for detoxifying the body that I discovered for myself.
Throughout my journey,
Whenever I occasionally indulged in bad food,
Unhealthy and unwholesome,
I always had a compensatory remedy.
After those moments,
I relied on my potion,
A ginger drink with turmeric.
Not only did I drink it after consuming unhealthy food,
But it also became a regular part of my morning routine,
Accompanying me until my practices,
Meditations,
In yoga,
And even in the evening,
An hour before meditation.
Whenever I gorged on something unhealthy,
I also washed it down with copious amounts of ginger drink,
Which is fantastic for detoxification.
It helps alleviate that mental tension of,
Oh no,
I've eaten something unhealthy,
Something bad for my body again,
As the compensatory remedy reassures me,
It's okay,
Nothing to worry about.
Let me tell you how to prepare this drink so you can make it throughout the course.
So,
The base of our detox drink for one and a half liter of water consists of two to three lemons,
Three to four pieces of ginger root,
Two to three pieces of turmeric root.
First,
Wash all the roots and lemons,
You can peel the roots if you like.
Take a powerful one liter blender and,
As you see fit,
Chop up four pieces of ginger,
Two pieces of turmeric,
Adjust as necessary,
And two lemons.
Put everything into the blender,
Fill half the blender with water and blend.
Once everything has turned into a liquid mass,
Add the remaining water to fill the blender and blend again.
Take a large bowl or pot to pour the blended mixture into.
Before pouring,
Find some fabric,
Like a cheesecloth or a nut milk bag,
And lay it over the bowl.
Pour the blended mixture onto the fabric.
Carefully gather the fabric from the sides to prevent spillage,
Squeeze out the liquid,
Strain the drink into another container through a filter.
Pour this concentrate into glass bottles.
In the end,
You'll have a super yellow magic drink,
Which can be consumed in shots,
Essentially small servings.
In the morning,
Take one shot before eating and another one during the day before meals.
Personally,
I prefer pouring a bit of this concentrate into a glass,
About one third full and diluting it with hot water.
This is great in the morning and in the evening,
An hour before sleep.
You can keep it for up to one week in the fridge.
The pulp left after straining can be used for tea.
Be cautious with turmeric,
It stains both hands and clothing quite a bit.
This drink significantly boosts metabolism,
Supports the immune system and helps flush out unnecessary toxins.
But honestly,
For about 5 years,
I've been drinking this hot ginger and turmeric mixture,
And you can also grate it.
This drink has always kept me focused and confident,
Cleared my mind,
Opened new ideas and transformed my life into something bright and beautiful.
My immune system is always ready to fight off anything unhealthy,
Which brings peace to my soul.
Interestingly,
The story of this drink began during 10-day vipassana retreats,
Where they served brewed ginger root after meals.
I became hooked on ginger,
I grated it,
Brewed it and added lemon.
I boiled water,
Finely grated the ginger,
Tossed it into the boiling pot and after five minutes added lemon.
I did this in the mornings and before sleep.
Later when I got to Bali,
I discovered the Jamu drink,
What we prepared together,
But the Balinese added coconut water instead of plain water.
This drink is considered a healing drink and has been passed down through generations.
So let's summarize.
It's beneficial to consume this drink on an empty stomach upon waking,
Before beginning your morning practices.
You can have a shot or brew one third of the concentrate with hot water.
Throughout the day,
You can take another shot before meals,
But it's better to be cautious with the shots.
Consume them 4-5 hours before sleep.
However,
One third of the concentrate with hot water can be taken 1-2 hours before bedtime.
The key is to feel the effect.
It should be consumed daily.
This is a gentle detox that will yield long term results.
You'll notice how this drink helps you wake up earlier since ginger burns toxins,
Waste and stagnant fat.
This drink is the foundation for cleansing,
But you must understand that to maintain health you need to consume wholesome food.
Start eating a vegan diet or try raw food,
Focusing on fresh produce,
Juices,
Salads,
Sprouted seeds,
And so on.
