This meditation is focused on finding rest and peace during pregnancy.
Your body right now is working so hard to grow and develop the life force inside of you.
Know that rest and sleep are so important during this time.
Find a place to lay down,
Whether it's on your floor,
A couch,
A bed,
Or something sturdy that would be able to support your full body.
Begin to get settled.
Depending on where you are in your pregnancy,
You can lay on your back or pick a side that you prefer to rest on.
Allow yourself to get settled.
After laying on your side,
I invite you to bring two pillows,
Placing one underneath your head and one in between your legs to support both your knees and your ankles.
Begin to take breaths in and out of your nose.
Take nice,
Easy breaths.
Take nice and slow breaths.
Allowing your body to sink down.
Allow the muscles,
Bones,
Nerves,
Connective tissues,
And everything to relax and rebuild.
What is rest?
What is sleep?
Why are these things even more important during this time of pregnancy?
Take one slow inhale through the nose and a deep,
Slow exhale through the nose.
Take one slow inhale through the nose and a deep,
Slow exhale through the nose.
Take one slow inhale through the nose and a deep exhale through the nose.
As you begin to get even settled,
Maybe you'll allow yourself to fall just a little bit deeper in your rest.
Allow the floor,
The couch,
The bed,
Or whatever you chose to lay on to support you and the life force growing inside of you.
Take another slow inhale through the nose and a deep,
Slow exhale through the nose.
Take one slow inhale through the nose and a deep exhale through the nose.
If you haven't already,
Soften the gaze,
Close the eyes,
Or find something around you to draw your attention to.
Feeling mentally foggy and physically sluggish is all too familiar for many of us.
Our on-the-go lifestyles may make us feel productive,
But when we're pushed too far,
Our accomplishments can come at the expense of our health,
Vitality,
And even spiritual being.
Know that your body is working.
Know that it's okay to give yourself grace and gratitude during this time.
Finding that delicate balance of living a fulfilled life,
Yet prioritizing time for rest,
Is an important part of our whole-person care.
So right now,
All you need to do is sink a little bit deeper,
Breathe a little bit slower,
Release tightness,
Release tension,
Release strain just a little bit more.
While sleep is critical to filling home,
Rest can be so much more than your nightly hours of shut-eye.
Know that rest involves your whole being,
Not just your body.
So as you listen to my voice,
As you settle in a little bit more,
Begin to rest,
Continue to breathe,
Find peace and comfort in this moment.
Find rest.
Find sleep.
Continue to find rest.
Continue to find sleep.
Find relaxation.
And sink deeper into rest.
Sink deeper into sleep.
Sink deeper into comfort.
Sink deeper into peace.
Breathe.
Breathe.
And fall into a place of rest.
Fall into a place of peace.
Fall into a place of sleep.
And as you fall asleep,
Know that you have everything,
Everything you need to grow that life force inside of you.
