Welcome to this meditation on finding your authentic purpose.

This is a meditation that will help you find work that aligns with your authentic purpose.

The work may already be out there in the world,

Or you may need to create it by starting a business or having another creative idea.

Either way,

Your work in the world can align with your divine purpose.

Divine purpose isn't something that you have to look for.

It's something that you will recognize immediately.

We are taught that everyone has a unique purpose,

But I want to reframe this.

Everyone's purpose is exactly the same.

I know that that probably flies in the face of what you've been taught before,

Where you have to go out and seek what is uniquely yours to do.

But I want to say it again.

Everyone's purpose is exactly the same.

It is to express and experience joy.

Feel that.

Take a moment and bring your attention to your heart space.

Can you feel joy?

Do you recognize it when it comes?

To express and experience joy is the reason that each one of us was put on this earth plane.

The individuality comes by how we express and experience joy.

Your way of expressing and experiencing joy will be very different from my way of expressing and experiencing joy.

But joy should always be the end result.

That is the purpose of all of your endeavors.

Too often,

We have forgotten how to express and experience joy.

When you were a kid,

You had no problem recognizing joy when it came into your heart.

You were probably joyful most of the time,

And simple things could bring you joy.

But as we got older,

We learned that joy was something that was frivolous or something that was contrary to work.

That's the reframing that needs to happen.

We have to express and experience joy by the work we do in the world.

Think about it.

You aren't here to punch a time clock or do something that you find miserable for the majority of hours of your life.

That's not God's purpose for anyone,

And it's certainly not God's purpose for you.

You're here to have that feeling of enthusiasm and energy and life flowing through you all the time.

Whether you want to call it joy or passion or purpose,

It's all the same,

And it's all your divine birthright.

So right now,

Take a deep breath,

And if you haven't already,

Close your eyes and see if you can consciously feel joy.

If you can't feel it on command,

It might help to bring into your awareness a time when you felt joy in the past.

Allow your memory to make it real for you.

Amplify the feeling of joy until it is as present with you as the chair you're sitting on.

Now in your mind's eye,

Look around.

What are you doing?

It's probably something that you can do for hours,

And you will lose track of time.

Ask yourself,

What do you love to do that everyone compliments you on?

What are you brilliant at?

And then sit in that feeling of doing the thing that you love to do,

Where you lose track of time,

Where it doesn't feel like work at all,

And where people compliment you.

Where people compliment you to the point that you're almost embarrassed because it didn't feel like you did anything special.

Now bring to mind one word that represents how you're feeling.

This word should be a quality of God,

Something like peace,

Love,

Abundance,

Wholeness,

Creativity,

Freedom,

Harmony,

Balance,

Prosperity,

Beauty,

Or any other that comes into your mind.

Now ask your heart to amplify the feeling of that quality,

And just allow yourself to marinate in it.

As you marinate in this feeling,

Become aware of your higher wisdom self.

It is that place in your heart that never leaves you,

And it is that gut feeling that you know is always right.

And ask that higher wisdom self to reveal to you right now something that allows you to maintain that feeling of joy or that quality of God.

The first thing that pops into your head is probably the right thing.

What can you do that allows you to feel that,

To maintain that feeling?

Don't worry if nothing comes right away.

You don't want to force it because you don't want this to come from your head.

Your head will tell you things that may seem practical,

But they're not how you express and experience joy.

Just allow your mind to clear and your heart to open.

Now bring your awareness to the place in your forehead between your eyebrows,

Which is also known as your third eye.

From behind your eyelids,

Focus your attention on that spot in the middle of your forehead,

And allow yourself to be pulled into what feels like the void,

Into the field of all possibility.

Release all your thoughts and any expectations,

And just be.

Now allow yourself to amplify the feeling of experiencing the word that you identified a little earlier,

And imagine what you would be doing in your life if you were feeling that every day.

Don't think about how you're getting the feeling.

Just imagine your life if you are expressing and experiencing joy every day.

Don't outline it.

Don't let your rational mind try to come up with the process.

Just sit in the feeling and look around and see what your life would be like as you are expressing and experiencing joy.

How would you breathe?

How would you smile?

How would you wake up in the morning,

Eat breakfast,

Exercise,

Spend your day?

How would you feel when you completed your day and were ready for bed?

How would you show up?

Really take the time to imagine yourself going through your daily routine,

Not as you did yesterday,

But as you would once you are finding work that allows you to express and experience joy.

Go through the entire day in your mind's eye with this feeling.

Now take a deep breath and anchor this feeling into your solar plexus so that you can access it anytime you want.

Take another deep breath.

Look around at what you're doing and embrace the vision that you have of whatever it is that will allow you to fulfill the purpose of expressing and experiencing joy.

And now as you take one more breath to bring your awareness back into your body,

Allow yourself to smile as you gently open your eyes.

Now before you get up and go on with your day,

It's really helpful if you'll take out your journal and write out what your perfect day would be as if it's happening in the present.

Write it out just as you just imagined it.

Make sure that you feel the joy every moment.

Do this exercise whenever you feel the need to remember what helps you express and experience joy.

And if you find yourself getting into the busyness of life and getting pulled away from joy and pulled into duty,

Obligation,

Overwhelm and dread,

Stop and take a moment to revisit this.

And remember that your purpose is joy and your life is meant to feel good.

Namaste.
