There is a simple way to practice living with more presence.
Let me walk you through one important question to ask yourself,
Because we cannot hold presence unless we're aware.
And so the question becomes,
Am I present?
Your answer will help define what happens next,
For if you are not present,
That awareness will be very helpful.
It's like the mind seeks to self-correct,
And so the desire to be present is what acts as a catalyst for how the mind focuses back into now.
Try it with me.
To hold presence in this moment is to be right here.
You are listening,
You are attentive to my words,
To your awareness of your body,
Your environment.
True presence and the deliberate focus on one thing is how we become most consciously aware of what is in this moment.
And so ask yourself,
Am I present?
If yes,
Enjoy this moment.
Be a witness to it.
Take in with all of your senses what you are aware of,
And then repeat into the next moment and the next.
If the answer was no,
Then notice how the mind adjusts.
It deliberately seeks what you have guided it toward,
Simply by you asking.
And then allow your awareness to call you back into the present.
This is something that you do again and again,
For being present is something that we must continue to practice.
And there it is.
In time you will choose to be present,
And far more than you ever have,
Bringing with it awareness and calm,
And the gentle observing of what is,
And nothing else.
Thank you.
