Find a place where you can relax and be undisturbed.
And either sitting or lying down,
Whatever is the most comfortable for you.
Noticing the support beneath you.
Noticing how the support is asking nothing from you.
It's just there,
Holding you in this moment.
Noticing that you're here,
You're safe,
And all is well.
And now noticing your breathing as you inhale and exhale.
Allowing your breath to be what it is.
Allowing it to just be relaxed.
Even more as you notice your breath and the support beneath you.
Continue to observe your breath,
Allowing your body to relax more and more into the support beneath you.
Allowing everything to just melt and relax.
More and more.
And you can notice now how easy it is for you to just relax.
That's right.
The more you relax,
The better you feel,
And you relax even more.
Now,
As you notice the top of your head,
You can relax your entire scalp.
Allowing all those tiny little muscles from the top of your head all the way down to the base of your skull.
To go limp and loose,
Completely relaxed.
Notice how easily you do this as you begin to notice how your forehead relaxes and goes smooth.
Like a baby's bottom,
Becoming more and more relaxed.
Feeling now all those tiny little muscles around your eyes completely relax right now.
That's right.
You can let that relaxation spread through your whole face.
All those muscles around your mouth go completely limp and loose easily and effortlessly.
Notice now how all the muscles in the jaw completely and totally relax as your jaw goes slack.
Even your tongue relaxes as you become more and more relaxed.
Allowing that relaxation to go down,
All the way down to your neck and shoulders.
All those muscles relaxing,
Taking you deeper and deeper down into total relaxation.
Deeper still.
Now,
That profound relaxation travels down more and more into your chest,
Spreading across and all the way down your chest,
Down your upper back,
Down your upper arms.
Relaxing all those muscles even more,
Taking you deeper and deeper down as you continue to allow that calming,
Gentle,
Peaceful relaxation to go down into your forearms and hands.
Feeling now your arms and hands go completely limp,
Heavy,
And relaxed.
Going even deeper now.
Noticing how that heavy relaxation travels down into your lower back,
Completely relaxing every muscle in your back as that relaxation spreads around to your diaphragm and stomach.
Moving down deeper and deeper into your stomach,
Into your large and small intestines,
Bringing profound relaxation right now.
That's right.
Everything easily relaxing more and more,
Bringing balance,
Health,
And ease to mind,
Body,
And spirit.
And you get the sense,
The knowing,
That everything's working just as it should.
This knowing takes you even deeper into total relaxation.
Now,
Doubling your relaxation every time you hear the word relaxed,
Knowing that you're 100% safe to totally and completely relax.
That's right.
Allowing easily now for that relaxation to go down into your hips,
Your bottom,
Relaxing you even more,
Feeling now heavy and completely relaxed.
And the more you relax,
The deeper you go,
And you go even deeper all the way down,
Allowing that deep,
Gentle,
And peaceful relaxation all the way down into your thighs,
Allowing all those big muscles in your thighs to go limp and loose very easily.
It's even easier to allow yourself to completely relax now,
Going even deeper down,
Feeling so relaxed as that comfort goes down even more into your calves as those muscles melt with total relaxation.
And the more you relax,
The better you feel.
Because you're here listening to me and relaxing more and more,
That means you have 100% control of your life.
Knowing this brings you profound confidence,
Safety,
And clarity.
This allows you to go even deeper still,
Allowing that relaxation to go down even more,
Deeper now into your ankles,
Your feet,
And your toes,
Relaxing all those muscles easily and effortlessly,
Feeling completely relaxed now.
That's right.
Heavy and relaxed.
Feeling calm,
Safe,
Confident,
And completely relaxed.
Now you can allow your inner mind to show you standing at the top of a beautiful staircase with 10 steps leading down.
There is a firm handrail,
And here you feel safe and secure,
Feeling completely relaxed,
Confident,
And at ease.
And in a moment,
You can walk down that staircase.
And as you hear me count off each of the steps,
You can step down one step,
Doubling your relaxation with each step that you take.

Stepping off the bottom step,
And you find yourself in a place that is comfortable and safe for you to be.
A place of safety and security,
Tranquility and calm,
Peace.
I would just like for you to let yourself zero in on the idea of just being comfortable.
And there have been many times,
Many places,
Many situations where you have felt so comfortable that nothing else mattered except that comfort.
And you might think of them now and let your unconscious mind present to you one such situation where you really experience the sense of physical and mental comfort.
And you can recall and re-experience all the sensations,
The sights,
The sounds,
The feelings which go with extremely comfortable.
And you can recall where you first experienced feeling profound relaxation,
Covering your body,
The feeling of every muscle in that part of your body just loosening up and just letting go.
And lying flat and limp,
Very deeply relaxed.
And very likely,
That part of your body that needed the relaxation most will re-experience it first.
And the feeling of every nerve in that part of your body becoming very quiet,
Peaceful.
Not doing any more than is absolutely necessary.
And you can wonder what direction that relaxation is going to move through your body.
Whether you experience it all at once,
Like a flow of comfort peacefully moving through you.
And soon you get the feeling that you don't even have to be aware of it anymore.
You can simply allow yourself to become part of that relaxation as it becomes part of you.
And it will be very interesting for you to discover for yourself that you don't even need to listen to me.
Because what your conscious mind does now is not at all important.
Maybe your conscious mind just wants to take a break,
Curl up in a corner and go to sleep for a while.
Or go as far away as it likes,
The way you did as a kid in school.
When you sat in the classroom and looked out the window and allowed your mind to drift far away from the classroom as it could get.
Someplace you'd rather be and you lost track of what was being said.
And it didn't matter because your unconscious mind was picking up everything which was being said.
As it is doing now.
And your unconscious mind is here with me and it can hear me and respond in its own time,
In its own comfortable way.
My voice will always go with you no matter how deep you go.
And you will remember everything I say unconsciously and forget everything I say consciously.
That's right.
You can enjoy whatever it is you are experiencing and right now.
You can enjoy whatever sensations,
Heaviness or lightness,
Warmth or coolness.
And let them become part of your relaxation and comfort.
You can go as deeply as you need to.
At this time,
For whatever it is your unconscious mind wants to do to help you.
Enjoy this experience.
And you might enjoy that experience of going so deeply into trance that it seems to you that you are just all mind without a body.
A mind floating in space and time,
Completely free,
Able to move whenever and wherever it wants to go.
That's right.
And I wonder what your unconscious mind wants to explore right now.
What doors it wants to open,
Perhaps taking a look through the file cabinets in the corner of that marvelous data processing system.
That is your mind searching through the files and examining things that stay the way they are.
Things that need to be updated.
What needs to be erased?
What items can be eliminated?
And it is very comforting for you to discover for yourself that you can really let go of old habits and your unconscious mind can do this in its own time.
And in its own way.
And you can continue to rest even more comfortably just knowing you can rely on your unconscious mind to do the things that need to be done.
You can begin to explore your capabilities that you never had suspected you had,
Which have been there all the time,
And find out for yourself a very deep sense of just who and what you are and what you are capable of doing all those things.
Perhaps you just weren't aware of them before,
But your unconscious mind can make them available to you.
At the time that you need them,
That's right.
And you can continue drifting along very comfortably wherever you are in time and space,
Just enjoying the restfulness of not having to do anything in particular right now.
And I wonder if you might begin to notice some changes in the atmosphere around you,
Perhaps taking on a different color,
And that atmosphere around you seems to be radiating a calmness you can experience with every one of your senses.
A calmness moving all around you and all over you,
Softly,
Moving itself into every fiber of your being until you get the feeling that's all there is,
Nothing else exists for you except that calmness,
Deep sense of peace,
Weightless suspension.
And you feel free from the past,
Out of the future,
Just enjoying the here and now,
Free to just let yourself be,
And on an even deeper level,
Experience a sense of your own being,
Who you are,
What you are capable of,
Becoming more aware of your own inner resources.
And now you can anticipate the joy of discovering those resources and what you can do to make use of them to help yourself and other people as well.
And now,
For the next few minutes,
You can allow yourself to relax even more deeply as your unconscious mind continues the important work it has started for you.
Working to reach an even deeper understanding.
As you relax there,
I want to ask you a question.
You do not need to answer this question out loud,
Just thinking about it,
Processing it in your mind,
Deep in your subconscious mind.
I was just wondering if you ever talk to yourself in your head.
Most of us do,
You know.
But how often is that voice an encouraging one?
How often does it say,
Well done?
Does it tell you off,
Attack you,
Or chide you?
I wonder what it is that you say to you.
Critical and hurtful?
Encouraging and loving?
Which is it to be?
Has it been?
Will it be?
I wonder.
I sometimes wonder if your harshest critic is you,
And if someone else spoke to you like that,
Just what would you do?
Would you argue with them?
Tell them off?
Or would you just let it be?
I am wondering all this as you lie there now,
Peacefully,
Wondering perhaps,
Why you let that voice in.
The negative one.
The critical one.
You could always turn down the volume.
You have the controls to turning that voice down.
The one that attacks and chides you.
And choose a different channel.
Tuning in to a different thought.
Perhaps looking for and finding something that you know you did well.
That you can pat yourself on the back for and say,
Well done.
It is hard in our culture sometimes.
I know we are discouraged from saying the things we are good at,
And playing it down in that self-depreciating way.
But everyone is good at something.
And it is okay.
At least allow that voice in your head to say it now.
No one else is listening.
It is okay.
If you heard something on the radio you just could not stand,
You can get up and change the channel.
You can tune right in to something that you like.
Something that makes you feel good as you swivel that dial.
Different sounds echoing through until you find that station you want.
Like getting off at the right station.
In the car perhaps.
At the place you want to be.
Or is that radio old fashioned now?
A thing of the past.
What about the TV then?
Choosing the channel there.
So many channels to choose from now.
It is up to you.
You have the power.
The choice.
You can turn off that voice.
That hurtful one in your head.
Perhaps as you lie there,
Or sit there,
And review things past,
Or those that are yet to come,
Bring the cheerleaders cheering you on.
That is the choice that you have.
And I wonder which one you will choose now.
You can switch it off and make it stop.
That negative voice.
Turn it off.
Make it stop.
And you can.
Can you not?
I know you know.
You can feel even better now.
You have overcome and triumphed over every challenge in your life.
Which means you are bigger and more powerful than anything that could ever come your way.
And I bet you can handle anything and everything even better now.
Everything you have learned will be useful at some point.
Having got this far means you'll be successful in all your endeavors.
Since you're here,
And here me,
You'll notice yourself feeling lighter and lighter.
Changing is easy,
And it's good to change.
You are learning many things,
And you are easily absorbing all of this.
You could decide right now,
Or by the time you come out of trance,
To relax and enjoy your life.
Be happy.
You must seize the day.
You must be ready by now.
Allow yourself to notice the new feelings.
You can trust in the process to get your desired results.
A person can,
You know,
Change overnight.
Won't you?
That's right.
I was wondering if you can imagine that now.
You will enjoy your life more.
You're doing better now.
This is more or less the right time for you to remember.
That brave adventurer child who loves life,
Excited for what's around the next corner.
Do you want to begin now?
Or when you come out of trance?
That's right.
You feel more confident now,
Don't you?
You know now you can move forward freely,
Confident in the knowing of your ability to handle any situation easily and effortlessly.
Comforted in the knowing that you are always safe.
Excited to live your life every day.
Feeling so happy with your decision to feel good about yourself and your life.
Now,
As your inner adventurer reawakens now,
Ready to explore,
Play and open up all the unexplored drawers in the world,
Curious of what you'll find,
Confident in yourself,
Standing tall and proud about who you are and how strong you've become.
Ready now.
Willing now.
Able now.
Allow your awareness to expand wider and wider into the nothingness.
Entering into the void.
Feel that total oneness with the universe.
A state of infinite potential and resources.
If there is any remnant of the issue left,
Take it into the void.
It came from the void.
Everything is created from the void.
And now you can uncreate any unwanted thought by taking it into the void.
Watch it disappear into the void.
And now all things will go just right for you.
You are in charge of your mind and therefore your results.
You have all the resources you need to succeed.
You are in charge of your life.
You steer your bus.
And now you know your future is unfolding here and now today,
Presenting you with a new surge of confidence and positive beliefs in your ability to live your life as you want to,

Starting now,
You will feel comfortable with yourself,
Regardless of the circumstances,
Because you know that you are in control.
You feel calm,

Happy with yourself in any situation,

At first my mind was fighting going into this meditation. Overwhelmed and racing thoughts. Listening to what he was saying I was brought into a calm state. By the end I felt much more calm.
