Guided Meditation for Setting Boundaries,
The Porch This guided meditation will help you set boundaries in your relationships.
It's a good meditation for empaths and energy-sensitive people who want to strengthen their energetic boundaries.
Let's begin by getting into a comfortable position,
Either sitting or lying down.
Close your eyes and breathe deeply.
With each in-breath,
Fill up the lower belly,
Then the chest,
And then the head.
With each out-breath,
Just relax and let it go naturally.
Let's breathe like this for one minute.
Now I'd like you to imagine that you are standing on a porch outside of your imaginary home.
The porch is a place where you interact with the world on your own terms.
It's not as private as the inside of your home,
But it's not a public place,
Either.
Here are some questions to help you visualize it.
How large is your porch?
Is there a roof or awning overhead?
Are the sides open or partially enclosed?
Is the porch at ground level,
Or are there steps leading up to it?
Are there chairs,
A table,
Or other furniture?
Is the porch equipped for your hobbies or other activities?
Are there any plants or decorations?
What can you see in the view from your porch?
The porch represents your energetic boundaries.
There is no right or wrong way for your porch to be,
As long as it's comfortable for you.
As you relax on your porch,
Feel the soft breeze and listen to the sounds around you.
As you are relaxing,
You look down and notice something that doesn't belong to you.
This unpleasant object was left on your porch by someone else.
You decide to dispose of it.
Maybe you have a magical wastebasket that recycles the energy of unwanted things,
Or you could wave a magic wand and turn the object into something beautiful that has symbolic meaning for you.
Now you might like to invite a guest to visit with you on the porch.
Who would you like to invite?
Imagine enjoying special time with your guest,
Doing whatever you like to do together.
Your visitor only stays as long as you want them to,
Because this is your porch.
After they leave,
Straighten up anything that needs to be put back into place.
Look around at the way you have designed your porch,
And see if there's anything you want to change to make it more comfortable.
As you relax on your porch,
Breathe deeply into your solar plexus,
Which is located about three inches above the navel.
This chakra is a seat of your self-esteem and boundaries.
Take a minute to relax and breathe.
You you Now it's time to come back from the meditation.
Breathe deeply and feel your body.
When you are ready,
Slowly open your eyes,
Stretch,
And come back to the present moment.
