Guided meditation,
Healing the inner child.
Let's start by closing our eyes and breathing deeply in and out all the way down into the lower belly.
Relax your shoulders,
Allowing them to droop downward.
Relax your body and let it sink into your chair.
Feel the heaviness in your feet as they are planted firmly on the floor,
Connecting you with the energy of the earth.
As you continue to breathe in a natural and relaxed way,
Notice the flow of energy in your body.
You may feel your hands growing warm and tingly.
Now imagine there is a younger part of you standing in front of you.
This is your inner child.
See this little person.
What do they look like?
What are they doing?
No matter how the child appears,
Try not to judge them.
Feel compassion for this young part of you.
This is the part that carries your wounds from the past.
We all have a wounded child inside of us.
As you gaze at the child,
You realize that you have not always accepted them.
In fact,
You may have rejected them because of the pain that you feel when you remember the past.
Notice the feelings that come up,
But don't beat yourself up with guilt.
Have compassion for yourself.
Realize that you didn't know any better.
You were never taught to go inside,
To face,
And heal your pain.
But now you are ready to do it.
Now bring your awareness to your body.
Is there any place in your body that is hurting,
Or any place where you feel tension or discomfort?
What is the thought that is connected with the discomfort?
It might be something like,
I'm not good enough,
Or some other thought.
How old is the part of you that is having this thought?
Even if you don't know,
Just think of the first number that pops into your mind.
Now I'd like you to visualize your inner child at the age you identified.
What does a child need from you right now?
Can you give the child what they need?
Is there something that the child needs to hear from you?
Speak to the child and say the words they need to hear.
Now if it feels appropriate,
Take the child in your arms and hold them close to your heart.
Tell the child,
I am here for you.
No matter what you are suffering,
I accept you just as you are.
I adore you.
Hold your inner child and let them nestle into your heart,
Knowing that they are safe with you.
Take a deep breath,
Breathing into any tension in your body,
And release it with the breath.
Now imagine there is a golden ball of light about six inches above your head.
The light is showering you with warm,
Soothing energy.
This light represents the unconditional love of your higher self.
Imagine there's a trap door in the top of your head,
And this energy is flowing down into your head,
Down through your neck,
Your shoulders,
And down through your arms,
All the way to your fingertips.
The warm,
Soothing energy is flowing down your chest and your stomach,
To your hips and your thighs.
It's flowing gently down your legs,
All the way to your feet and the tips of your toes.
Feel the relaxation as you are bathed in the golden light.
Now imagine that the golden light is filling up your inner child.
See them glowing with light.
Feel the peace and joy of unconditional love.
As you are basking in the light,
Say to your child,
I love you.
I am here for you.
You are always in my heart.
Now it's time to say goodbye to your inner child.
Thank your child for being willing to spend this time with you.
Assure them that you will always be here for them.
Now it's time to come back from the meditation.
Breathe deeply and feel your body.
When you are ready,
Slowly open your eyes,
Stretch,
And come back to the present moment.
