Guide of Meditation,
The Beach.
Let's start by closing our eyes and taking a deep breath down into the lower belly.
Now slowly let it out.
Now take another deep breath and slowly let it out.
Relax your shoulders,
Allowing them to droop downward.
Relax your body and let it sink into your chair.
Feel the heaviness in your feet as they are planted firmly on the floor,
Connecting you with the energy of the earth.
As you continue to breathe in a natural and relaxed way,
Notice the flow of energy in your body.
You may feel your hands growing warm and tingly.
Now I'd like you to imagine that you're walking along a beach.
See the color of the sand.
Are there any rock formations in sight?
What time of day is it?
What does the sky look like?
As you walk along,
You feel a light breeze blowing against your skin and the air is just the right temperature.
You come to a place where the sand is damp and firm,
Not too wet and not too dry.
You decide to stop and take off your shoes.
Feel the soft sand between your toes.
As you look around,
You see many seashells half buried in the sand,
Like hidden treasures.
There is one seashell in particular that catches your eye.
You lift it from the sand and dip it in the water to wash it.
Water reveals the color of the shell.
You admire the intricate pattern on the surface of the shell,
And you wonder about the sea creature that used to inhabit it.
Looking up,
You're amazed at the vastness of the ocean.
It seems to go on forever until it disappears into the horizon.
You realize that the ocean connects every continent on earth.
Standing here at the edge of the ocean,
You feel connected with everything.
The waves move towards you,
Sometimes partway,
Sometimes washing over your feet.
You find yourself relaxing into the pure joy of this moment.
You feel a sense of freedom and playfulness.
You can't control the waves,
But you can play with them.
You can run towards them or away from them,
Like playing a game of tag.
You breathe deeply,
Smelling the salty air.
You feel relaxed and refreshed.
As you take in your surroundings,
You see someone in the distance coming towards you.
They are walking slowly and with steady confidence.
It appears to be someone who is joyful,
Peaceful,
And comfortable with themselves.
As this person comes closer,
It slowly dawns on you that you are looking at your future self.
What does your future self look like?
You are excited to meet your future self.
Your future self walks up to you,
And you open your arms to greet each other with a hug.
You tell your future self how happy you are to see them,
And you thank them for meeting you here on the beach.
You feel inspired and encouraged to see your future self and all they have accomplished and become.
You realize that this is your opportunity to ask your future self any questions that are on your mind.
Take some time now to ask your questions and listen for the answers.
Now if it feels appropriate,
You may ask your future self for a symbolic gift.
What would that gift be?
Receive the gift and thank your future self with a hug.
As you and your future self are hugging,
You feel them merging into you.
You and your future self are one.
You realize that you have all the resources inside of you to accomplish your goals,
And you are filled with joy and gratitude.
Now you are walking back along the beach,
Returning home.
Take one last look at the ocean as you say goodbye to this beautiful scene,
Remembering that you can come back here anytime you want to.
Now as I count from five to one,
You will slowly come back.
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Feel your body in your chair.
When you are ready,
Slowly open your eyes,
Stretch,
And come back to the present moment.
