If you're seated,
Being nicely supported by perhaps a wall or a chair,
Or even if you're sitting on the floor in the middle of a space,
Sitting up on something,
And lying down can always be with a pillow or a blanket behind the head and perhaps maybe a bolster or rolled blanket under the knees.
And as we do talk about fall,
The season is shifting,
The weather is changing,
So maybe a cozy blanket on you.
As we're first starting to begin this meditation this evening,
Let's go ahead and begin to bring ourselves into this physical body,
Into this vessel.
Maybe we first begin on the outer edge of the body by connecting to the spaces that are supported,
That are touching something,
But then as we turn a little bit more inward,
We're going to use the breath to start to anchor us inside of the physical body,
Specifically drawing your awareness into your belly.
Noticing the rise with the inhale,
The letting go,
The falling with the exhale.
There's a letting go quality that comes with exhale.
We're beginning to add on to our breath.
We're going to begin to count from the number 10,
Making our way down to zero,
And with each count,
A release,
A letting go more than the number before.
So I'll start with you and then I will let you continue on your own.
Inhaling,
If it feels comfortable to do so,
Exhale 10,
Release,
Let go,
Inhale,
Exhale nine,
Soften,
Let go,
And then continue to make your way all the way back down to zero.
Letting go of any holding in the body,
Settling here in this space,
In this present moment.
And as you make your way to zero,
Feeling completely at ease and at ease,
Really settling into the rhythmic inhale and releasing exhale.
Now I want you to call to mind an area of your life where it would serve you,
Let go of something,
Or of someone,
Or as I said earlier,
A part of you that isn't serving you today.
And without getting too far into a story,
Let's pause right there,
Just at the very tip of acknowledging this area where we want to let go and feel the body.
Notice if any physical sensations began to pop up,
Whether it's tears to the eyes,
Whether it's a shift of something that felt released and all of a sudden intense or tightened.
Maybe the rhythm of your breath is different.
And again,
We're not going to get stuck going into the story,
We're not going to even go down into the emotional aspect,
We just want you to stay with the physical part of how you feel,
What do you sense in the physical body.
And then I want you to begin to imagine as if that area that you want to let go,
That person,
Etc.
See it as a tangible area right in front of you.
Imagine as if it can take up this space,
Even just as if it's floating in this bubble right in front of you.
And then I want you to begin to visualize from that bubbled situation or area or person,
There is a cord connecting from it to you.
And as you see that cord connected to you,
I want you to bring in some assistance.
Maybe perhaps it's an angel or one specific angel.
So either a general one or a specific name.
Maybe it's a person who has passed away who protects you.
Maybe it's even someone who's alive,
That you trust and who deeply supports you.
And then I want you to begin to see them gently grab on to that cord as it attaches to you and begin to pull it away.
As if you can see it,
These roots that are even coming from the very end of this cord as this person lifts it out and away from you.
It detaches from the situation,
The bubbled area.
And that person drops it to the ground,
It dissolves.
This releasing of the cord doesn't mean that it's over.
It doesn't mean that there might not be some grief that needs to process.
But it doesn't have to hold as much weight in your life.
You can begin to release in any manner that you need to.
And again,
Acknowledging that situation,
That person,
That part of you,
And even sending it a bit of love and light.
Doesn't have to have that hold on you anymore.
And then start to turn inward again,
Coming back into the physical body,
Specifically into the heart center,
The center of the chest where your heart chakra is located.
Almost as if it's like a little seed placed in this area,
A little seed of contentment.
Thinking about those areas of your life where you are content,
Where you are sure,
Where you do trust,
The areas that you know are aligned and are right.
And almost as if that little seed begins to implant in this heart area,
This contentment begins to grow,
Begins to grow and fill the whole space,
This whole physical body.
Feeling content.
Acknowledging those areas that are going well.
Content with those projects that you take pride in,
Those relationships that bring you deep joy.
Feeling content for those areas of your life that you don't need to question,
Where you know love is there,
Where you know pride and joy,
Gratitude is already there.
See this contentment grow,
Radiate from the heart center,
Shine throughout the physical body,
Even shining outward,
The heart center radiates contentment.
We'll stay here for a couple moments,
Just breathing in the silence,
Feeling content in your life.
And then come back to your belly breathing again.
We connect back to this physical body,
Feeling the breath fill this area,
Release from this area.
And then we'll connect to our heart space.
One final time for this meditation,
We either just bring awareness to that area.
You could physically connect by stacking one hand on top of the other or hands and Anjali As you acknowledge that heart space,
Contentment for you in this moment,
Showing up to meditate,
Taking care of yourself.
A deep heart of gratitude for where you are in this moment.
Whether you're in a place that might feel aligned,
A heart of gratitude.
Whether you're in a difficult challenging place,
A heart of gratitude,
Those experiences that have brought you to this moment,
That strength that you have.
Taking any final moments to send any messages of love to yourself,
Any reminders or acknowledgements,
Anything you need to hear.
And from my heart space,
Peers,
I'm deeply grateful you joined me in this evening.
Namaste.
