Today's session is all about intention.
You will experience my personal mindfulness method that incorporates journaling,
Affirmations,
And meditation.
Go ahead and grab a notebook and pen.
Get settled where you feel comfortable.
This session is inspired by Five Minutes to a Mindful You,
A self-reflection journal.
My greatest hope is that you will leave here today feeling refreshed and ready to take action toward reaching your goals.
Let's get started.
Go ahead and sit where you feel comfortable and supported as we settle in.
Take a few deep breaths.
Inhale all the way into your abdomen and exhale,
Pushing all of the air out through your mouth.
Inhale,
Exhale.
As you continue focusing on your breath,
I like to share an inspiring quote or a thought,
Something to connect to.
Everything rests on the tip of intention.
Intention is like a seed.
Once we have it,
Once we nurture it,
It will grow.
Intention is the commitment and the determination to act a certain way.
Something often overlooked is that intention doesn't rely on any attachment to a specific outcome.
We cannot control the future,
But we can control how we act in this moment.
That is intention.
Living with intention gives us purpose in all that we do.
We know what we want to achieve and we'll intentionally take steps to get there.
Once your intention becomes clearer,
It can guide you in your choices and decisions,
The action that you take.
Everything rests on the tip of intention.
We can nurture that seed to grow and thrive,
Allowing us to achieve our goals and dreams.
Go ahead and take a few more deep breaths.
Close your eyes or soften your gaze in front of you.
Take another deep breath in,
Exhale.
As you feel your body become quiet and still,
Open your mind to hear what will be uncovered today.
I will invite you to write this down a bit later,
But for now,
Just reflect on this affirmation.
I am building awareness of my own presence and that of the world around me.
You can say this out loud or quietly in your mind.
I am building awareness of my own presence and that of the world around me.
Take a few moments again,
A few deep breaths.
How are you feeling as you sit quietly with this?
Now we will explore a few questions and reflect on intention and what it means in our lives.
Through that affirmation,
Building awareness of our own presence and the presence of the world around us,
We can find clarity in what actions align with our intentions and what things we might be doing that are not moving us in the right direction.
I will leave a bit of time in between the questions for you to sit peacefully feeling whatever is laying on your heart and mind in this moment.
We will come back and do some writing toward the end of our session.
How do I want to feel?
This is one of the most important questions in my opinion when it comes to everything we do.
We don't usually think about how we want to feel or maybe we do,
But we don't realize that we have power in our actions to create the feelings we desire.
Our minds get cluttered with the voices of society,
Of our inner critic,
Our ego,
And the people around us.
But when we take the time to get quiet and listen to that voice inside of us instead of everything else,
We can see what lights us up,
What gets us excited,
What makes us feel good,
All the things most of us want more of.
That is where we can claim that power,
Being aware and present,
Able to find spaces of quiet so that we can hear our own voice,
Listen to our own instincts,
And connect to our intention.
All of that comes when we explore how do I want to feel?
Next,
How do I want to spend my time?
Time is a very precious resource.
We always say,
Time flies.
I wish I had more time.
Just not enough time in a day.
Let's set intentions about how we want to spend the time that we have.
What do you really want to be doing?
You can break this down over time,
Starting with the big picture and breaking it down into weeks,
Days,
Hours,
Or even minutes.
Once you uncover how you want to spend your time,
You can see what matters most to you.
Those are the things to keep at the forefront of all that you do.
And finally,
In what areas am I living intentionally with purpose already?
What areas need more attention?
For many of us,
There are some areas where we have that determination and that commitment to our intentions,
And we act in ways that feel good,
Are very aligned and purposeful.
What are those areas?
Identify them so you can recognize how intentional you are already being.
Likewise,
For many of us,
That unfortunately means some areas have been left behind.
Some things still need our attention.
In order to live more intentionally going forward,
You need to know where you're at right now.
What areas could you spend more time with?
I,
By no means,
Want you to tackle all of them at once,
But creating and having this list will help you decide what is most important to focus on first.
I invite you to spend more time with these questions after our session ends.
Reflect over the coming days.
Have this awareness about the things you do,
Your presence in the world.
Intentional living is all about being purposeful.
You don't need to find your one specific purpose.
Instead,
Ask yourself,
What do you want your life to mean?
What do you want to create,
Inspire,
Give to this world?
The reflection from this session will help you answer that question over time.
Now we'll take a few moments as we wrap up our session so that you can write about all that came up for you in this practice.
So grab your notepad and your pen,
And I will repeat the questions,
Allowing time for you to write and explore.
Feel free to pause this at any point if you would like to spend more time and resume when you are ready.
What do I want to feel?
How do I want to spend my time?
In what areas am I living intentionally with purpose already?
What areas need more attention?
As we come to a close,
I want to say thank you for joining me for this session.
I want to leave you with this reminder.
As you move forward with your day,
There is no limit to what you can do in this world when you are acting with clear and purposeful attention.
Thank you for joining me for this session.
