Hi,

My name is Dia and I'd like to welcome you to this Summer Solstice Meditation.

The Summer Solstice marks the longest day of the year when the sun is at its highest point in the sky and the days are longest.

It is a time of full ripening and blooming where we celebrate the abundance of Mother Earth and all her beauty.

We are standing once again at a turning point in the seasonal wheel of the year and if we bring ourselves to it consciously it can be a time of great transformation.

The more consciousness and ritual we bring to it,

The more we can catalyze energetic shifts within ourselves that will help us realign with all that is important to us.

If we allow,

These turning points can help us release old worn-out patterning behaviors and welcome in new growth and change from a deeper place within,

From the place of our intuitive knowing and heart wisdom.

For this meditation we'll be using fresh herbs such as lavender,

Rosemary,

Or sage and if it's available to you,

You may like to pause this audio so you can have some nearby along with a match,

A burning bowl,

And something to write on,

Your journal or a piece of paper.

And if you don't have any of that,

That's fine.

You can bring your imagination to this process and it will be equally as powerful.

And if you can,

Find a place outside or near a window where you can invite the warmth of the sun and the summer breeze to be with you,

Being more and more in touch with nature.

So when you're ready,

Let's go ahead and take a breath together.

Breathing in and breathing out.

Breathing in and taking as much fresh oxygen as you can.

Filling your whole body up with air and allowing yourself to rise up through the crown of your head and then slowly begin to let that air out.

Bring softness into your shoulders,

All the way down your spine,

Your belly,

Down through the hips,

The legs,

The soles of your feet and into the earth.

And then as you continue to breathe,

Visualize yourself standing at a portal or a gateway,

This gateway to transformation.

See if you can bring it alive in your mind's eye.

Bring in all the beauty that is surrounding you that the summer has to offer.

The colorful flowers,

The colorful flowers,

The rich greenery.

Notice what you can smell.

Notice what you can hear.

And then feel the warmth of the sun on your skin as you breathe in this fresh summer air.

Let your body begin to soften under its warmth.

Now visualize a bright golden light shining within you like a sun in your own heart.

See this light growing brighter and brighter,

Filling your entire being with its warmth and radiance.

Allow yourself to take a breath and breathe in the glow of your own inner light,

Feeling your own essence as a light being.

And at this point,

If you have a bundle of herbs next to you,

You can hold them and breathe them in,

Taking a deep breath,

Breathing in the smells of lavender,

The smells of sage,

The smells of rosemary.

Allow these herbs to represent the fullness and abundance of the summer energy.

Allow their aromatic properties to connect you to your own personal strength and fire within,

The fire of courage,

Passion,

Strength.

And then take a moment to check in with yourself and see what it is you'd like to create for yourself this summer.

What is your need?

What is your need to be felt,

To be experienced,

To give and to receive?

What would you like to bring in to your life during this season?

What aspects of yourself do you want to cultivate and nourish?

Perhaps you want to bring in the energy of the lazy summer days of playfulness,

Of vitality,

Of being able to light that fire within,

Like the heat of the summer sun,

Igniting your passion,

Your aliveness,

Aspects that perhaps have been buried under responsibility,

And all the mundane tasks that are needed,

But not necessarily life-giving.

So take a moment if you have your journal with you or a piece of paper to jot down what it is that you want to experience in this season of summer,

When the whole planet is bursting with aliveness and abundance and beauty.

How can you translate that in your day-to-day life?

Taking as much time as you need to write that out in as much detail as you'd like.

You may pause the recording,

And then I invite you to take a match and light the herbs,

Allowing them to release their fragrant smoke.

Hold the bundle over a burning bowl and use your hand to fan the smoke towards you.

And as you do this,

Repeat the following affirmation to yourself.

I honor the power of the summer sun and the abundance of Mama Gaia.

I connect with my own inner light,

Radiance,

Abundance.

I know the truth of who I am,

And I release all that no longer serves me.

I welcome in my liveness,

My abundance,

My beauty,

To be here in its full blossoming.

And take a breath in.

Allow that to settle into your body,

Into your bones,

Into your heart,

Into your mind.

If you feel that you are complete,

Bring your hands together in prayer position in front of your heart for this opportunity to pause and to let go of all the negative thoughts that you may have.

And to take a moment to give thanks for this opportunity to pause at this powerful point of the summer solstice,

And to honor yourself for the light being that you are,

And to honor our earth for all that she gives so generously.

And take a moment to give thanks for the people you love,

The opportunities that are here for you,

The times of joy,

Playfulness,

Long,

Lazy days of slowing down.

And we softly take our hands and place them over our heart and bow down in gratitude for the goodness of life,

For the warmth of the sun,

For the earth that gives.

And in gratitude for this opportunity to be here together,

To celebrate and move into summer together,

We say thank you.

And so it is,

And so it shall be.

Thank you for being here.

Namaste.
