It was the first time I experienced such intensity of light,

Wind,

And space.

My fingers stretched out slowly and then curled back in again.

Sounds pierced my ears with such a shock I began to wail in fright.

Voices still muffled reverberating through my cells.

Movement of abrupt swaying and turning was happening.

The voice,

Time to go little,

Will be shocking at first.

It'll be cold and it will be terrifying.

This is the moment you've waited for.

Come and meet your mama.

She will love you with the greatness of all souls.

She has brought you into this world.

Flesh from flesh.

Blood of creation flowing,

Ripping,

Tearing.

Life being born into existence.

Come dear precious being and your name shall be,

Your name shall be,

Name shall be.

We'll live together.

Spirit incarnate.

Flesh and speaking.

Flesh and doing.

Flesh and being.

Why,

I ask?

Because it's what we do.

Heart beating.

The earth turning.

The stars dying.

The moments of family.

The moments of gathering.

The moments of eating.

The moments of resting.

It's what we do,

Dear one.

We are loved and we love back.

We are alone.

It's what we do.
