Was du lernen wirst
In this ten-day Stoic journaling course, we will consider the relevance of Stoicism in our lives and be inspired by female Stoics from history. This course aims to deepen our understanding of what is really happening in our inner world by addressing some of the challenges we face every day as women, from a Stoic point of view. Each lesson addresses coping mechanisms for everyday challenges and inspires us to take notes on how we can adopt stoicism into our lives. Over the duration of the course, we will come to understand the relevance of a Stoic approach when embarking on the protection of our inner peace, and use this set of empowering tools to help us navigate challenging encounters. As we come to adopt this method and follow the journey from commitment to self-discovery, we will come to appreciate how our journal can be used as a tool for transformation. This journaling course is a way to adopt healthy daily habits in the quest for our higher selves. The better we know ourselves, the better equipped we will be to turn challenges into opportunities, whilst discovering our inner value system and developing iron-clad virtues that we will protect at all costs. If you are ready to embark on a consistent journaling habit, spend time in self-reflection, and learn more about how Stoicism can benefit your life, this course is for you. Whether you already journal or wish to try it for the first time, you are welcome to join this empowering project.

Leeds, England, United Kingdom

Stephanie spent over 20 years teaching both Philosophy and English Literature to high school students, and is now happy to be able to share her knowledge with you. She identifies as a 'natural born stoic', and seeks to eradicate the myth that Stoicism is merely another term for 'toxic masculinity'.

Lektion 1
How To Represent Your Higher Self
On day one of the Stoic Journaling Course for Women, we will focus on 'Temperance' - one of the four principles of Stoic philosophy. Using a quote from Anne of Green Gables as our starting point, we will consider the significance of self-care.
Lektion 2
How To Appreciate What You Have
Stoics encourage mentally rehearsing the loss of things they value to understand their importance and appreciate them more while they have them. In this lesson, we will look at what we are focusing on and compare that with the gifts we have in our lives. This helps us understand the significance of where we place our focus and appreciate the small things.
Lektion 3
How To Come To Terms With Being Seen As The Weaker Sex
This lesson is about self-empowerment and reaffirming our strengths as women. And how to avoid external forces manipulating us. Through journaling, we will redefine our own unique set of morals and values.
Lektion 4
How To Be Positive In Adverse Situations
In this lesson, we look at the unbreakable optimism of Anne Shirley in Anne of Green Gables and use this as a case study for how to reframe moments in order to maintain our inner peace, even if the outcome is beyond our control.
Lektion 5
How To Take Charge When A Family Member Says 'I Want To Talk To You Now!"
In this lesson, we look at the behaviour of Lady Catherine de Bourgh in Pride and Prejudice and use it as an observational prompt. Dealing with demanding relatives is difficult at the best of times. But adopting Stoic practices can help us navigate this.
Lektion 6
What To Do, To Avoid 'Doomscrolling'
Using an extract from poetry from Louisa May Alcott (author of Little Women), we come to understand the control we have and the choices we make, regardless. This lesson is all about hacking the algorithm and questioning the choices we make subconsciously.
Lektion 7
How To Practice Gratitude
In this lesson, we look at how Anne Shirley celebrates the moment she is in, rather than focusing on the dilemma she finds herself in. By considering the Stoic principle of Wisdom and using this principle to consider the positive things in our lives, we can maintain the protection of our inner peace.
Lektion 8
What To Do, When You Are Scared Of Getting Hurt?
In this lesson, we look at a quote from Marie Curie and consider her wise words. This is all about developing a greater understanding of the world we are living in and developing the knowledge to navigate this. We refer to the Stoic principle of Wisdom.
Lektion 9
How Can I Make The Best Of Myself?
In this lesson, we look at a quote written by Jane Austen in her novel 'Emma', and we consider the four Stoic principles of 'Courage', 'Wisdom', 'Temperance', and 'Justice'. Reflecting on our thoughts and actions using this practice, we can improve our self-discipline.
Lektion 10
How To Deal With Difficult People
In this lesson, we learn to practise greater flexibility when responding to challenging people and challenging situations. We look at the Circle of Control and consider the significance of the pull of external forces on our well-being.

Great course. I loved the spin on this associated with the classic novels as each one of us is a classic in ourselves. Thank you for the wisdom you have bestowed.

This course allowed me to reflect on many aspects of my life I may not think about regularly. When you actually put the words on paper and reread them it has a greater impact. Thank you!
