Analytical Meditation is one of the most important meditation techniques used in Buddhism. Rather than letting go of your thoughts, it makes you think about your situation and analyze your situation in more depth. The wonderful thing about this tecnique is that it is based on your analysis and your logic that you bring to situations. We often have problem with few people, that we term as difficult people. Lets see this situation and bring more positivity in them through our analysis.

It is difficult.

Forgiving is difficult.

No doubt.

But without it,

Our life is negative,

Irritating and revengeful.

We don't need it.

We don't need that negativity in our life.

I want you to try this analytical meditation and overcome your negative situation with more positivity and humility.

Be seated.

Close your eyes.

Take three deep breaths and be comfortable.

See that difficult person in front of you or see that situation in front of you which is difficult for you.

Don't engage in it.

Don't react in it.

Just see it.

I want to introduce to you what I call true equality.

Think about it.

Aren't we all same deep inside?

We all want happiness.

We all want to get rid of sufferings.

We all want happy relationships and comfortable life.

Deep,

Deep inside we are truly equal.

This person in front of me also want the same things as I and we all make mistakes.

I have made so many mistakes.

Don't have I hurt so many people.

Don't you think we can acknowledge the fact that we all make mistakes but we all want the same things in life?

This person as well.

The best way here is to accept that you and this person is same in many ways and move forward.

Do we always know what is going on in that other person's life?

Do we know their sufferings,

Their problems,

Their aspirations,

Their karma or their upbringing?

Maybe they are doing it out of their own karma or their own problems.

Do we know everything about them that we can term them as bad?

No,

We don't.

The best way is to give them a benefit of doubt and move forward.

Is this situation and person really going to matter you in the next five years?

Do we really need to linger on with this pain when we know that everything in the world changes?

This person,

This situation,

This circumstance will change.

Then why do I linger on with this pain?

The best way is to let it go and move forward.

Is it possible to see this situation as an opportunity for your own growth?

Because of this person,

This situation you get to practice patience.

You get to become more strong.

See this situation as your opportunity,

As a challenge you have undertaken and move forward being more strong.

The best way is to take it as a challenge and move forward.

Now it is important to bring some fresh air,

Some positivity to get rid of this pain.

It is very important for you to acknowledge that this person is also good.

They are kind in their own way.

They have helped you,

Have helped their family,

They care for their parents.

And don't forget,

We all have the same basic goodness in us.

They also have the same basic goodness in them.

From your heart now,

Say,

I forgive you.

I also forgive myself from bearing this pain.

For the next one minute,

Imagine your heart is expanding and radiating a bright,

Bright white light.

As your heart expands,

See that white light going to that person and say,

I forgive you.

I forgive myself to bear this pain.

May you be happy.

Let your heart expand.

Let that white light radiate to this person.

Let your heart expand.

Let that white light radiate more and more until you dissolve this person,

Truly letting them go and forgiving them.

See that white light radiating and completely dissolving this person where you are letting them go and forgiving them.

We have come to an end of this practice.

But before we go,

If you ever see this person again or think about them,

Remember the things that we have thought about.

We all are same.

We don't know this person completely.

They are not going to affect us in the next five years.

And maybe you can take this as an opportunity for your own growth.

Think about these things and radiate that white light from your expanding heart,

Letting them go.

Thank you for practicing with us.

Very nice! I have been trying to forgive this person for a long long time, and have been unable to; but now I think I have done it. Or perhaps I will the next time I listen to this.
