How is your heart today?
How are you feeling?
If you want to take a moment with me,
I have something I'd like to share that might be helpful.
I would like to invite you to close your eyes if you're in a safe place and sense your breath for a moment.
Notice if there's an emotion coming in.
Notice if there's a place in your body where that emotion likes to go.
You can name it if that helps the emotion,
The feeling,
Or you can just acknowledge that there's something even if you cannot put your finger on it that doesn't feel like you.
Something that you're carrying from the day,
From the events in the world.
And now sense your breath again and see if you can direct your breath with your intention towards that area of your body where that emotion that you don't want to name or that you do want to name is lodging itself in your body.
It could be a heavy feeling in your chest.
It could be a wretched,
Tight knot in your stomach.
It could be a nagging pain in your shoulder or your neck.
Just simply notice it with your attention.
Use your breath to communicate with it.
What we're doing is we're letting it know both the emotion and the body tension,
The pain,
That is comfort.
We're letting it know that we see it,
That we hear it,
That we acknowledge it,
And that we are here to support it.
You can imagine holding it,
Which is yourself,
As a mother would hold a child,
In tender love,
Unconditional acceptance,
Nurturing warm energy.
And in this state,
Allow a few rounds of breath to bring in compassion.
Just be in with whatever is that you are experiencing without fighting it,
Without amplifying or minimizing it,
Without the need to explain it or justify it,
Or feeling this way or that way about it,
Just being with it,
Breathing some more and letting the warmth of your breath,
The beat of your heart,
Support yourself at the deepest level.
In this moment,
You are okay.
Right now,
You are safe.
Breathe with me.
One more time.
Now,
Let your attention expand from the place where the pain or discomfort,
Where the emotion was located,
Into the greater space of your chest.
Direct your attention to your chest,
To the center of your chest.
You can put your hands there,
If that helps.
And under the hands and into your chest,
Find the beat of your heart.
Really find it,
Listen to it,
And breathe with it.
In,
Out.
Find the peace of your heart,
In your heart and around your heart.
And as you breathe with your heartbeat two more times,
Fully in and fully out,
Remember that love is the unconditional force in the universe.
And love is behind us and around us,
Supporting us through this grief,
Through this confusion,
Supporting us through this growth pain,
Evolving us,
Uniting us.
You are love.
Thank you so much for your attention.
Thank you.
