Welcome to this 5-minute mountain meditation.
Find a quiet and comfortable place to sit or lie down.
Begin by closing your eyes and taking a deep breath in through your nose.
Exhale slowly through the mouth.
Breathe in again,
Breathe out.
Take a few more deep breaths,
Allowing your body to relax with each exhale.
Now imagine yourself sitting on the top of a mountain.
Visualize the mountain and the scenery around you.
Picture the rocks,
The trees,
The sky,
The clouds,
And the vastness of the landscape stretching out before you.
As you sit on top of this mountain,
You feel grounded and stable.
Like a mountain yourself,
You are firmly rooted in the earth and your body feels strong and sturdy.
Take another deep breath in.
Imagine breathing in the fresh,
Crisp mountain air.
You can smell the scent of the trees and the flowers.
And as you exhale,
Imagine all your stress and worry leaving your body,
Carried away by the wind.
Breathe in that mountain air again and exhale into the wind.
Now imagine the sun setting behind the mountains.
The sky is ablaze with orange and pink hues.
The sun casts a warm glow on your face and you feel a sense of peace and calm.
On your next inhale,
Take in this warm glow and exhale.
As you sit and watch the sunset,
Allow your thoughts to come and go like clouds passing by.
Don't try to hold on to them or push them away.
Just observe them as they come and go.
Take another deep breath in and imagine breathing in the beauty and tranquility of the mountain.
As you exhale,
Let go of any negative thoughts or feelings.
You are the mountain,
Strong and unyielding.
Nothing can shake your foundation.
Take a few more deep breaths.
When you're ready,
Slowly open your eyes.
Take a moment to appreciate the peaceful feeling that this mountain meditation has given you and carry it with you throughout your day.
