Welcome.

Today's journey is an adventure as we will be travelling all the way to Glastonbury,

England.

Rich in ancient history,

Steeped in folklore and some say the final resting place of King Arthur himself at Glastonbury Abbey.

We will walk through the mists of Avalon,

Drink of the spring waters and return refreshed and renewed.

So let's start by getting comfortable and closing your eyes.

We will begin by taking three deep breaths.

In through your nose and out through your mouth.

In and out.

And one more time.

In and out.

You start to hear the gentle sound of lapping water.

And as you breathe,

You are filled with the sweet aroma of summer.

And you realise you are standing on the shore of a giant lake that appears to extend for miles.

It's a lovely day.

Blue skies meet the lake at the horizon and a few wispy clouds gently dance across the sky.

You are all alone on the beach and stare out to the vastness of the lake before you.

As you watch,

You notice a mist forming towards the horizon.

The mist starts to gently roll in towards you.

It swirls and swirls and begins to create silver-tipped magical waves.

The magical waves strengthen and swell and then rear up into white majestic horses that begin to canter across the lake towards you,

Kicking up the mist with their hooves and sending sparkling shimmers in a wake behind them.

You watch in awe,

Simply drinking in the majesty of the lake and the scene before you.

Now the mist and waves have moved much closer to shore and as they do so,

They gradually become less intense.

And as the mist moves closer,

You can start to make out a small wooden boat in the midst of the mist being propelled towards you.

And then as the mist and the waves roll closer still,

You start to see the outline of a woman standing at the bow of the boat and she is holding on to an ornately carved swan's head,

Reaching up from the boat.

You can see now she is wearing a purple dress with long sleeves that reach down into the boat.

Across her shoulders hangs a rich red cape that ripples in waves as it cascades from her shoulders.

In contrast,

Her long white hair swirls around her,

Mirroring the swirling mists around the boat.

The shimmering waves are now calmer still.

They continue to transport the boat until it gently nudges the shore in front of you.

Her face is bright,

A broad smile welcomes you and she calls out,

Welcome dearest one,

You are as beautiful and radiant as I had ever imagined.

Still holding on to the swan,

She steps onto the shore and almost gliding towards you,

She takes your hands and continues,

I am Nolava of the sacred land,

Goddess of compassion,

Healing and transformation.

I am the lady of the lake,

Lady of the holy springs and wells.

I am the lady of Avalon and I am honoured to be here today and be your guide for this journey.

I am here because I heard your call,

Like the moon calling to the tides,

Whispering out from every cell of your body.

We were both drawn here today,

Like rivers flowing towards the ocean.

You are here today because it is time.

You have felt the subtle pull of Avalon,

The thirst from the deepest parts of your soul for a long,

Long time.

So come with me today.

Rhiannon,

The white mare from the seas,

Is ready to take us on the mists of Avalon to Glastonbury,

England.

So there you may drink from the holy wells,

Refill and hydrate once again.

She smiles warmly,

Opens her arms and welcomes you to step in close.

She hugs you close to her body and you can feel her brimming with a mother's love.

The love is cascading from her,

Cascading over you and seeping into every cell of your soul.

You feel so held and so full of love,

You could burst.

You both slowly release the hug.

Lady Avalon steps back,

Looks directly at you.

She is strength and wisdom.

She is peace and power.

She smiles brightly and extends her hand for you to join her in the boat.

You take a step forward and she helps you on to the boat.

Holding on to the swan's head,

You climb in and settle on the bench and looking out through the mists across the lake.

The Lady Avalon steps into the boat behind you.

She picks up a thick knitted shawl and places it around your shoulders.

She stands behind you,

One hand holding the swan as she too faces out into the lake.

You feel a gentle jolt as the boat moves away from the shore and out into the blue expanse.

You can feel her presence.

She is the rudder and the sails.

She is the power and the ease of flow through the water.

She is the navigator and she is the anchor all at once.

A gentle wind picks up.

The Lady Avalon's hair begins to lift behind her.

The mist rises up and swirls and surrounds the boat.

The white horses rear up once again.

Their manes are the frothy foam of the breaking waves,

Propelling you both and carrying you deep into the mists.

The boat glides along and you can no longer see the shore or the horizon.

You can barely see the front of the boat and Lady Avalon calls out to you,

Breathe deeply my dear,

Breathe in these healing mists.

You take a few breaths in,

Absorbing the healing energy throughout your body.

Lady Avalon speaks again.

The water flowing from the springs in Glastonbury will wash you through down to every cell of your body.

What are you here to cleanse and let the water wash away?

It may be many things,

It may be one thing,

It may be something recent or from a long time ago that got stuck in an eddy in your past.

You continue travelling and the mists begin to clear and you see a new shore coming into view.

The Lady Avalon calls out again,

Welcome home traveller.

As you step from the boat you're standing in a garden.

Before you in the centre of a stone sunken patio is a well.

You are curious and feel drawn forward.

You descend down several stone steps and stand on the patio.

The lid is open wide and you notice the black iron safety grate about three feet in diameter nestled flush with the surrounding stones.

You walk forward and kneel at the edge,

Peering down through vivid green lush ferns and soft carpeting moss clinging to the well wall.

You see the water just a few feet below.

Lady Avalon steps beside you and speaks.

We are at the top of Chalice Hill and this is the Chalice Well.

Some people call it the Blood Well because the water is tinged red.

People like you have been coming here to cleanse and let the water wash away.

You continue travelling and the mists begin to form.

You are here for over 2000 years to drink and be nourished.

She reaches inside a pocket in her cloak and pulls out a gold bowl hanging from three golden chains that twist together to form one chain that she holds onto as she lowers the bowl into the well.

She continues.

This water flows from an ancient spring deep inside Mother Earth,

Providing us all with constant refreshment.

You hear a soft splash as the bowl hits the water below.

She then starts to pull back on the golden chain,

Pulling the bowl now full of water back up to the surface and through the black grates and into the reach of her hand.

Then she waves her other hand over it and you see red sparkles materialising and floating down to rest on the water in the bowl below.

And she speaks again,

Chalice Well,

Your child is here.

She has travelled many miles to be refreshed and renewed by you.

She offers the bowl to you.

Take a drink.

You are curiously excited.

You lean forward and take the bowl with both hands.

Put your lips to its rim.

You can smell the freshness of the liquid before you and you take a sip.

Oh,

How refreshing this water tastes.

It's so cool in your mouth and tastes divine.

It is both peace and power.

As you swallow,

You start to feel a fizzing in your belly.

The fizzing gets larger and larger and expands down your legs,

Through your torso,

Down your arms,

Up your neck and fizzes through your whole head.

You feel the giddiness of a child.

This water is pure joy.

You are filled with pure joy.

You think of Lady Avalon's words and what you came here to let go.

The fizzing continues and it's simply dissolving it all away and replacing it with pure joy.

The magical water of the Chalice Well,

Deep from Mother Earth below,

Has washed it all away.

You smile.

You can't help but smile and you feel buoyant.

Drink more,

She urges.

You didn't realise how thirsty you were and you drink and drink until the bowl is empty.

And with each mouthful is more letting go and more clarity on why you are here today.

When you are finished,

You rest for a moment and glow in the peace and tranquility of the Chalice Well.

Well done,

My dear.

Whenever you feel angry or frustrated or lost,

Remember the healing power of the Red Spring is always inside you.

But now we must travel to the White Spring.

She swoops her hands down to the ground and as she brings them back up and over her head,

The mists of Avalon rise up,

Covering you both.

As her arms swoop down again,

The mist clears and you have been transported right into the Old Stone Well House,

The home of the White Spring.

You are in the centre of the room,

Standing beside Lady Avalon.

Three vaulted ceilings span above you.

On the far left corner of the room,

The White Spring enters and flows from there into several sacred pools.

Firstly,

There are two small deep pools before the White Spring flows into the large circular pool in front of you.

And then the White Spring finally drains out onto the floor along the stone channels.

This room is magical and mysterious and a mesmerising delight to the senses.

Hundreds of candles light the darkness.

The sound of the water echoes across the vaulted ceiling.

Lady Avalon speaks again.

In this place,

We honour the spirit of the White Spring and we offer gratitude.

It is a temple of life,

A sanctuary that supports and nourishes all beings,

And it is best experienced from within the sacred pools themselves.

She moves to the left side of the large pool and you follow her.

You can see three stone steps that lead up to the pool's edge and then down into the pool itself.

Leaning over and peering down,

You can see the pool is quite shallow and you can easily see the stone flags making up the bottom.

You feel a pull to the water.

You are drawn closer to the pool.

She continues.

The White Spring is inviting you to be cleansed.

Step into the water.

You hear Lady Avalon's comforting words.

I am here to hold you and protect you.

This is a brave step,

But you are brave.

You have always been brave.

Sometimes you might just forget it.

That is all.

You see a wooden bench beside you with a few towels laid out and slowly you begin to take your clothes off one by one,

Fold them and leave them on the bench.

You stand before the large pool and start to climb the stone steps.

You do feel brave and braver still with each step.

You hear Lady Avalon call out to you.

The water will be cold,

Sister,

So take your time.

Step into the sacred pool.

Sit,

Totally submerge.

Let your body tell you what it needs.

Then she begins to sing as you continue into the pool and her singing echoes around you and is heavenly.

With the last line of her song,

You return to the stone steps and to your clothes on the bench.

You take a towel,

Dry yourself off and put your clothes back on.

Lady Avalon speaks again.

It is time for you to return like the Red Spring,

The White Spring is always part of you now and you may return and call on her healing power whenever you need to.

Simply call for Rhiannon.

She will bring the boat and bring your beautiful self back.

She smiles and gestures for you to sit on the wooden bench.

Once again,

She swoops down her arms and pulls the mists up from the floor until you are surrounded.

Then when the mists clear again,

You have returned to the room.

When you are ready,

Wiggle your fingers and toes.

When you are ready,

Open your eyes and look over your body.

Notice a soft shimmer emanating from your skin.

It's the essence of the sacred waters of the White and Red Springs.

It has melded into every cell of your body and it will always remind you of your journey here today.
