Hello,
This is davidji,
And welcome to The Daily Insight.
Today we're going to dive into five minutes of space.
Couldn't you use a little more space in your life?
Space between thoughts,
Space between breaths,
Space between the moment something comes into you and the moment your response comes back out.
If we can connect to that space between what flows in and what flows out,
Our responses will be more thoughtful,
More mindful,
More expansive,
And will actually make better decisions.
So let's connect to that space.
Let's settle in.
Let's find a comfortable place to sit or lie down.
Together,
Let's take a long,
Slow,
Deep breath in.
Allow your eyelids to float closed and gently let that go.
Let's do that one more time.
Long,
Slow,
Deep breath in and gently release it.
And let's just watch our breath here.
Let's just witness that breath as we breathe it into our nostrils and watch it as it moves down our chest into our belly,
Witnessing it the whole way.
Observe it as it flows back up past our throat,
Back out through our nostrils.
Watch that breath,
Creating space within you.
In this moment,
There's nowhere else to be and there's nothing else to do.
So stay here with me and witness your breath.
Notice that your mind is calming just a little bit.
Notice that your body is relaxing just a little bit.
Notice that you're slowing down.
Your thoughts are slowing.
Your heartbeat is slowing.
Your breathing is slowing.
Everything about you is easing,
Relaxing,
Slowing,
Slowing,
Allowing there to be just a little more space.
Let's just stay in this space just for a little bit and watch our breath.
Notice it.
Notice it's a little cooler coming into you than leaving you.
Notice how far down it goes deep into your belly when you put your attention on it.
Notice how stress leaves you as you exhale.
Just keep witnessing.
Just keep watching.
Just keep witnessing.
Just keep watching.
Allow the space.
Receive the space.
Welcome the space.
So now as you move throughout the day,
As texts and emails and conversations come into you,
Just remind yourself of that space.
That space of creativity,
That space of patience,
That space of spontaneous right speech coming back out of you.
Just allowing you to wait a beat or two before you let your words flow back out into the world.
If anything pushes your buttons throughout the course of the day,
Just take a long,
Slow,
Deep breath in.
Reconnect to that space and flow your best version.
Have a space-filled,
Amazing day.
