Hello,
This is davidji,
And welcome to my morning practice.
Today I'd like to share with you a practice that I've taught,
Lived,
And written about in my book Sacred Powers.
It's helped me to set the perfect trajectory of my day and at the same time awaken the sacred power of presence in each moment.
To help me see more clearly,
And most importantly,
To help me make better decisions.
And I know if you practice it,
It'll have the same impact on your life.
So let's begin.
Let's find a comfortable place to sit or lie down.
Let's gently feather our nest.
Comfort is queen,
And the most important thing you can do to set the trajectory for your day is to come from a place of stillness and silence.
So let's get comfortable.
Just nestle in,
And together let's take a long,
Slow,
Deep breath in.
Gently let that go.
Now allow your eyelids to gently float closed.
Again,
Long,
Slow,
Deep breath in,
And gently release.
Then continue to watch your breath.
Simply witness it as I guide you through the same exact practice that I do every morning.
And you can take pieces of this to create your own morning sadhana,
Sacred practice.
Keep witnessing your breath.
Keep watching.
And let's begin this morning's practice by asking ourselves a few sacred questions.
First let's ask,
Who am I?
Who am I?
And simply keep asking this question over and over.
Sometimes answers will flow,
Sometimes there will be no answers.
Simply keep asking,
Who am I?
Who am I?
Now is a perfect time to begin your dialogue with the universe.
Who am I?
And next let's ask,
What am I grateful for?
What am I grateful for?
And just allow answers to flow.
And next let's ask,
Do I agree that I cannot step into the past to change it?
Do I agree that I cannot step into the past to change it?
Next,
Do I agree that I cannot step into the future to force it?
Next,
Do I have the patience to wait until my mud settles and my water is clear?
Do I have the patience to wait until my mud settles and my water is clear?
Do I give myself permission to show up right now as my best,
Most brilliant,
Most creative expression of myself?
Do I give myself permission right now to show up as my best,
Most brilliant,
Most creative expression of myself?
Am I willing to breathe deeply into this moment and awaken my best version?
Am I willing to breathe deeply into this moment and awaken my best version?
And now take a long,
Slow,
Deep breath in with me.
And let's let go of all those questions and all those answers.
We'll leave it up to the universe to sort it all out.
And now let's invite an intention into our awareness.
Everything in life is about attention and intention.
So invite an intention into your awareness.
And if you're not sure what that intention should be,
Ask yourself this question.
What does my heart long for right now?
What does my heart truly long for right now?
And whatever answer comes to you,
Invite an intention to manifest,
To create,
To attract,
To bring you one step closer to the fulfillment of your deepest desire.
Allow that intention to fully form,
Allow it to crystallize.
And when you're clear,
Now invite it into your heart.
Let it settle into your sweet,
Tender heart.
Feel it nestle in.
Feel it take hold.
Feel it merge with the beating of your heart.
Plant that intention like a seed in the fertile soil of your heart.
And as you see it take root,
Take a long,
Slow,
Deep breath in.
Raise your chest up,
Let the universe gently kiss your soul,
Bless that intention and let it go.
We'll leave it up to the universe to answer.
We'll leave it up to spirit to sort out all the details.
And now let's breathe some metta,
Some unconditional healing light,
Unconditional loving-kindness.
As you breathe in,
Feel it flow into your heart and expand.
And as you release it,
Feel it just flow out with gratitude into the world.
Breathe in healing light.
Just let it ripple out into the world.
You're just a conduit of healing light.
You're just a channel of love.
You're just a love machine.
Breathe it in.
Feel your heart expand.
Feel your heart fill with that unconditional healing love.
And release it back out into the world.
Feel it flow infinitely into you.
Feel your heart fill.
And release it infinitely.
As the Sufi poet Hafiz said,
I'm just a hole in the flute,
A channel of love,
A conduit of energy,
Pure and whole.
And so this will be the perfect space right here to take a long,
Slow,
Deep breath in of healing light,
Sweet metta.
Mm.
Feel your heart expand.
And now draw a thread from your heart to someone else's heart who's suffering,
Struggling,
Or in pain.
And exhale that healing love along that thread right into their heart.
Do it again.
Long,
Slow,
Deep breath of sweet,
Nourishing,
Healing light.
Feel it come into your heart.
And feel it move out along that thread,
Connecting your heart to theirs.
And watch them heal.
Feel their pain,
Their suffering,
Their struggle begin to dissipate.
And one more time.
Long,
Slow,
Deep breath in.
Mm.
Feel your heart expand so wide.
It's bursting with love.
It's been empowered,
Filled with healing light.
And now flow it on along that thread right into their heart,
Whether they're near,
Far,
Or in the beyond.
Feel kindness flow,
Sweetness,
Forgiveness,
Compassion.
Healing and love.
Continue to watch your breath as it flows in.
Notice that your body is relaxing.
Notice that your mind is calming.
Notice that whatever turbulence outside of you or inside of you has now slowed.
There's nowhere else to be.
There's nothing else to do except to be right here,
Right now,
In this sacred,
Precious,
Present moment.
So now let's take it a little deeper.
We use an ancient Sanskrit mantra as the object of our attention.
And by repeating it silently over and over,
We will connect to the stillness and silence that rests within,
The space between our thoughts,
The space between our breaths,
Between our words,
The space of pure oneness.
As you repeat the mantra,
You may drift away to thoughts,
Or sounds,
Or physical sensations.
And that's okay.
But when you realize you've drifted away,
Ever so gently,
Drift back to the mantra.
The mantra we'll use today is Om Moksha Hritham.
Om is the universal vibration.
Moksha is liberation,
Emotional freedom,
Rhythm of the universe.
And by repeating this mantra over and over,
All the energy in your body,
Your heart,
All aspects of your being will become aligned with the universe.
Om Moksha Hritham.
As you repeat the mantra,
It may change.
It may get louder,
Even though you're repeating it silently,
Or fainter.
It may become faster or slower.
It may become jumbled or distorted.
However it changes,
Don't resist.
Allow it.
And when you realize you're no longer repeating it because you've drifted away,
Ever so gently,
Drift back,
Drift back.
And when you hear me ring the chime,
Just sit gently with your eyes closed.
So let's begin.
Om Moksha Hritham.
Sit gently with your eyes closed and let the stillness and silence settle in.
And now take a long,
Slow,
Deep breath in.
And gently let that go.
Let's do that one more time.
Long,
Slow,
Deep breath in.
And gently release it.
And now let's seal the intention that we've planted,
The answers to the questions that flowed to us,
The stillness and silence that we've connected to,
And the fact that we've set a trajectory,
Planted a seed of stillness and silence that will follow us throughout the day.
Patience,
Creativity,
Compassion,
Peace of mind,
And peace of heart will be a part of our every thought,
Word,
And action.
So let's celebrate our oneness by chanting OM.
Take a long,
Slow,
Deep breath in.
And when it feels comfortable,
You can slowly open your eyes,
Wiggle your fingers,
Wiggle your toes.
Allow yourself to come back into your physical body.
And repeat this affirmation with me.
I am whole.
And throughout the course of the day,
When you notice you may be getting a little constricted,
Or tired,
Or sad,
Or frustrated,
Or feeling like you're dimming your light,
Silently repeat the mantra,
Moksha.
Moksha.
Moksha.
To remind yourself to stay in this space and allow magnificence to unfold.
From the sweet spot of the universe,
This is davidji,
And perhaps you heard Peaches the Buddha Princess in the background,
Because I always recommend that you meditate with your pet.
From both of us,
We send you love.
Keep meditating,
And we'll see you in the gap.
Namaste.
Namaste.
