Good morning and welcome to the artist's morning.
My name is Darius and I'm so grateful that you and I get this time together.
Today's meditation practice is one I use often.
It's very simple,
Quite stripped down actually.
And I find incredibly effective,
Especially on days when I am very distracted,
I am very active in my mind,
And it's hard to feel my heart.
I'll guide us the whole way.
Let's begin our practice,
If your eyes are open,
I'd like to invite you to gently close them now,
And let's begin to go inwards together.
Give yourself a moment to land,
To really truly arrive in your body in this moment.
Let's begin to take deeper breaths,
Signaling to our body that we are safe here,
We're allowed to slow down and soften,
Softening your forehead,
Your jaw,
Bringing a gentle softness to your neck,
Your shoulders,
Your shoulders are tense.
Let's just drop them towards the floor,
Allowing the softness to work its way down your back,
Your arms,
It feels like a hug from someone you love,
There's a safety,
A security there where you can just let go,
Take a deep breath here,
Breathing in,
Big sound on our exhale,
As the softness works down our legs,
Down your knees,
Your shins,
Your ankles,
All the way down to your feet and toes,
You don't need to do anything here,
There's no way to get it right or wrong,
Even 1% softer and slower will have a positive impact on your body,
Your mind,
And your day.
You're open to it,
Repeating the mantra,
I'm allowed to go slow,
I'm allowed to go slow,
I am allowed to go slow,
What's it like here when we slow down a little bit,
Is there something here that surprised you,
Maybe there's some pleasure,
Some joy,
Sometimes for me going slow starts off difficult,
That's okay too,
You can keep reminding yourself,
It's okay to go slow,
I'm allowed to go slow,
When you slow down,
What do you feel,
Is there a place in your life where it would serve you,
Serve your highest self,
If you just slowed down a little,
Let's take another deep breath here,
Breathing in,
Letting it go slowly,
Is there a place in your life where it would serve your highest self,
For you to go slower,
Is there a place in your life where it would serve your highest self,
To lighten your load and let go of something,
Is there a place in in your life where you could use more joy,
More laughter,
I'm allowed to go slow,
Sometimes to go fast,
To go far,
The best thing we can do is to go slow and go steady,
I have no idea what's happening in your life,
So I can't tell you what you need to do,
Obviously,
But what I'd love to invite is a gentle curious exploration,
What could happen in my life,
If I went slower,
What could happen in my life,
If I went slower,
I put less weight and intensity in certain places,
What else would show up,
This is our last song this morning,
Dear artist,
I'm going to step back and get out of the way and just let you explore,
Explore,
Bravo dear artist,
Bravo dear creator,
You made it to the end of this meditation,
Which means you succeeded in actually slowing down just a little bit today,
And for me that's a huge win,
Maybe as you slowed down today during this meditation,
Something showed up that surprised you and maybe just fell asleep,
Even that puts a giant smile on my face,
For those that are joining us live at the artist morning,
I'm going to share a journaling prompt and put 20 minutes on the clock and allow us to do some private personal journaling,
And of course if you're catching us on a replay,
Perhaps on insight timer,
You can do the same,
Put some time on your own clock,
Get your journal out and see what's here and ready to be expressed through you,
Thank you once again for meditating with me,
My name is Darius and I will see you next time.
