Good morning and welcome to the Artist's Morning.
My name is Darius and I'm so grateful that you and I get this time together.
Our meditation practice today will be on the theme of choice.
Our meditation practice today will be an opportunity to perhaps see places in our lives where we are giving away our power,
Our agency,
Places in our lives that we are forgetting that we are cosmic creators.
We have an opportunity to make something beautiful every day with our lives,
But in order to do so we need to remember that our lives are not happening to us,
But instead are happening for us.
Let's begin our meditation.
Your eyes are open.
Let's close them and go inwards together.
Let's begin to feel what's here,
What's accessible for you in this moment.
Landing in our seats,
In our bodies,
In our hearts.
Let's take a few deep breaths together here,
Breathing into our heart space.
Breathing in,
Holding at the top,
Letting it all go.
Continue taking deep breaths on your own here,
Slowing everything down.
Your mind begins to wander,
That's okay.
Use the breath to bring you back into your body.
Before we go in just take a moment to feel the stability beneath you,
The floor,
Your seats.
To feel perhaps the temperature on your skin.
Is it cool?
Is it hot?
Bringing our awareness to our bodies,
To our hearts.
Thank you dear body for being here.
Thank you for everything you do,
All the places we get to travel,
All the people we get to meet,
All the foods we eat,
All the handshakes and hugs,
All the things we say with our voices.
This entire human experience would not be possible without you body.
Thank you.
Taking another deep breath here,
Breathing in,
Filling your lungs with oxygen and letting it all go.
Seeing if you can access just a little bit more calm and peace here,
Even one percent of the time.
If you're new to my meditations you know I often say all of my prompts are invitations.
You don't need to do anything,
You don't need to feel any way.
All of it is a choice.
And sometimes it's easy to love choices because they are reminders that we have power,
We have agency,
We can choose where our lives go.
And sometimes it's easy to forget that,
To fall into this belief that we are powerless,
That our lives are happening to us and we can't do anything about it.
Often this belief is unconscious.
Today's practice will be a reminder of something very obvious,
A reminder that you are still alive.
You have power,
You have agency,
You have creativity,
You have resourcefulness,
You have guidance and support.
And no matter what is happening in your life,
What your relationships look like,
What your career looks like,
Your physical activity,
Your financial activity,
You dear artist are still alive.
You have power,
You have agency,
You have creativity and resourcefulness.
You are guided and supported.
You can choose where your life goes.
You can choose to change,
To adapt,
To grow.
And you can also choose to let go.
You can choose to let go of anything that no longer serves you,
To let go of who you thought you had to be,
To let go of limiting beliefs that are holding you down,
To let go of people,
Jobs.
You can choose because you are still alive.
And you can choose to keep everything exactly as it is too.
Whatever you choose,
Wherever you go,
Remember the universe has your back.
God is here holding your hand.
Your guides,
Your angels,
Whatever you want to call them,
Are here with you,
Forever believing in you,
Forever supporting you,
Even when you feel completely alone.
The universe has got your back.
For this last song,
I'm going to sit back and let you explore whatever's here,
Joy,
Excitement.
Maybe you are enraged by this meditation.
All of you has permission to be here.
All parts.
All of you is welcome here.
All of you is welcome here.
All of you is welcome here.
All of you is welcome here.
All of you is welcome here.
Bravo,
Dear artist.
You made it to the end of this meditation,
And for that I am so grateful.
Let's take a moment to land here,
Back in our seats,
Back in our bodies.
Let's take a nice deep breath together,
Breathing in.
Thank you for meditating with me this morning.
For those of you that are joining us live at the Artist's Morning,
I'm going to put 20 minutes on the clock and invite us all to do some private and personal journaling.
Perhaps a journaling prompt you might want to explore.
Is there a choice I don't want to make?
Is there a choice I'm not ready to make?
If that prompt resonates with you,
Take it for a spin.
If it doesn't,
Let it float away and find something else to journal about this morning.
Thank you once again for meditating with me.
My name's Darius,
And I'll see you next time.
