Hello and welcome to the Artist Morning Writers Club.
My name is Darius,
And I am so grateful that you and I get this time together.
Let's begin our practice.
If your eyes are open,
I'd like to invite you to close them now.
As we begin to go inwards together,
Nice and slow.
Taking longer,
Deeper breaths.
Imagining new creative energy pouring into you from the top of your head.
All the way down,
Down,
Down to the bottoms of your feet.
Each new breath new creative energy.
Each exhale,
We are getting lighter.
We are letting go of anything we no longer need.
Today's practice.
Is a powerful one and today's practice is one in which you might want to go slowly.
There's no thing that needs to happen here.
The concept is simple.
But simple and easy aren't always the same thing.
Today's practice is loving our scars.
Loving our scars.
And that can be any type of scar.
Physical,
Emotional.
Relational.
Any type of scar.
Just take a moment to notice what it feels like.
When I present the possibility of loving your scars.
Whatever is coming up for you,
Be gentle with it.
All of your feelings are valid,
All of your feelings are welcome,
And You are not your feelings.
Those are two different things.
Today's practice,
Today's invitation is here.
To love your scars.
Breathing deeply,
Bringing your awareness to wherever you go when I say your scars.
Don't overthink this,
There might be a few possibilities.
And maybe one possibility.
Rises to the top of your consciousness.
What could happen.
If you are able.
To be with your scar.
To presence it.
To be honest with it.
Now notice I didn't say love.
How you got the scar,
Love?
What happened to you around the scar,
That's a different conversation.
What I am saying is that scar is a part of you now.
Proof.
Of your resilience,
Of your tenacity.
Proof.
That you existed.
Proof of your time on planet Earth.
And maybe,
Just maybe,
This doesn't need to be true for everyone.
There is a wisdom.
There is a story,
There is a lesson within that scar.
That you are ready to share.
And if you are not ready,
That is perfectly okay.
Please do not force this.
Please be gentle.
It's just an exploration for now.
This is our last song this morning before we get into our writing this week.
I'm gonna leave some space for you to get closer.
To get more honest.
And maybe to love your scars.
Bravo,
Dear artist.
Bravo,
Dear writer.
Let's take a deep breath here to bring our meditation to an end.
Breathing in.
Big exhale out.
Before we close,
I just want to invite you to place one or two hands on your heart.
And just love up on your heart,
Love up on your human.
Feel the support here.
When we talk about scars,
It's important to go slow,
To be gentle,
To remember there's nothing that needs to happen.
And it's important to distinguish wounds and scars.
Wounds are active,
Open entities.
It's different to ask you to tell stories and share writing from a wound.
Scars are different.
There's some time,
There's some perspective,
There's usually a more resourced energy available.
Thank you for going deep with me,
Dear artist.
Of course,
If you're catching us on a replay,
Perhaps on Insight Timer,
You can do the same as well.
Thank you once again,
My name is Darius,
And I will see you next time.
