A 30-Second Prayer For Creative Courage

Before I create anything, I pause and say this simple 30-second prayer. It helps quiet perfectionism, comparison, doubt, and distraction so I can reconnect with my truth and creative courage. In this short video, I share the prayer and guide you through it slowly so you can use it before writing, making art, recording, or beginning any meaningful creative work. Adapt the words in whatever way best supports your own spiritual practice and creative spirit.

Hello beautiful humans, My name is Darius and today I want to share A very simple, Very powerful practice that I literally use several times every single day. If you've been following me For the last few years, You know I make a lot of meditations. I write a lot. I'm a professional photographer. I make videos. There's a lot of creation that's a part of my life. And I never. . . Do any of those things without doing this one practice before. It's a really simple practice. It might sound like a strange practice to you. It takes less than 30 seconds, But it. . . Dials me in, It locks me in to the mission, Whatever that mission is. If you've ever attempted to create something in your life, You know what to do. Our brains can go all over the place, Our doubt, Our uncertainty, Our insecurities, Perfectionism, Comparison, And we can get in our own way very quickly. This prayer, It's a prayer, Not a religious prayer in any way, But it is a prayer. I saved my butt so many times. When I am scattered, When I am all over the place, When I am doubting myself, This 30 second prayer. . . Lots, Man. So with your permission, I will share it. I'll say it once just so you can hear it, And then I'll say it again in a slightly more meditative state if you are open to it. Here it is. Dear God. Please. Use me. As an instrument for your divine expression. Use me. As a channel. For your love. Give me the strength to go into the depths of my heart. And find my truth. And give me the courage. To speak my truth in my own authentic voice. Whatever happens from there. I let go and let God. Like I said, Before I start a creation, For example, Before I started this video, Making this video. I did a little meditation, I do a little tiny journaling practice and then I Say that prayer. All the noise of the world, All the distractions, All the doubts. Quiet down. In that channel, Whether you believe in God, You call it universe, You call it your highest self. You call it your muse, Whatever it is that. Thing beyond us. Our connection, Our channel to it becomes. So that I can. . . Be that channel that I can access. The creative inspiration and I can share it with the world. And so one more time, I'm going to say it again. Feel free to use it, Take it, Adapt it, Completely scrap it up and say shh. No thanks, Darius.
