Welcome.
In today's meditation,
We focus on our pelvic floor or hearth of our body.
In Irish culture,
The hearth is the center of life.
It is the keeper of the fire.
It is what keeps the family warm and connected.
Like that,
Our sacral chakra,
Our root chakra,
Give us our life,
Provide our vitality,
And keep us connected to our ancestors.
I invite you to give some care to this area of your body,
Both physically and energetically with this exercise.
I invite you to sit quietly with an awake spine and feet flat on the ground.
Or if you're comfortable,
You could lay down and have your knees relaxed,
Whatever keeps you in a more comfortable space.
And with that,
I invite you to take a breath in through your nose and out through your mouth.
Do that two more times,
Inhaling through your nose and exhale.
And once again,
Inhale and exhale.
Imagine from above your crown,
The light shining from source,
Shining down into your crown chakra,
Sending a light to connect you with all that's around you in spirit.
The light continues to shine down to your third eye,
Allowing you to see,
To your throat chakra,
Allowing you to speak your truth,
To your heart,
Allowing light to shine with love to all those around you.
The light goes further down to your solar plexus,
Allowing you to soar.
And then to the spot,
Asking us to give some care today to your sacral chakra,
The space of creativity,
And finally to your root,
Your connection to all of your ancestors,
All those who've come before,
All those that are with you now in this space offering support.
There lays a bowl of sorts,
Your pelvic floor surrounded by hip bones,
Muscles,
Tendons,
Creating an anatomical bowl.
This bowl can be thought of as a hearth,
As a holder of fire,
A holder of your passions,
A holder of your desires,
Your creativity,
Perhaps even life itself.
Taking a breath and just noticing that space.
Are there any discomforts,
Any pains,
Any senses of unease?
Like our ancestors,
We can sweep out our hearth,
Whether it be in our homes or in our physical bodies,
Allowing ourselves to release all that doesn't serve us.
And with that,
I invite you to think of yourself standing on the edge of a hip bone,
Looking down into the hearth,
The bowl,
The pelvic floor of your body,
And noticing any areas that may need to be swept,
To be released,
To allow yourself to move forward,
Allowing yourself to notice that,
And to sweep,
Starting on the edge of your hip bone,
Around towards the front of your abdomen,
Breathing deeply,
Knowing that the top of this hearth is your diaphragm,
And as you breathe,
You breathe life and air into this space,
Allowing for a release of all that isn't serving you,
Allowing for the sweeping to continue in a way that's beneficial.
Breathing around the front of your abdomen and down deep into your belly,
Down deep into your pelvis,
Releasing anything that is aching,
Anything that's causing strife,
Any area that just needs a little bit more of sweeping.
Moving gently to the other hip bone and doing the same,
Starting at the top and lowering down,
Allowing anything that isn't serving you to be released through the bottom of your pelvis,
Out into the environment to be recycled and renewed,
And moving towards your back,
Anything there that requires your attention,
Requires some sweeping,
Offering it love and space,
Noticing the cobwebs,
Is there a color,
A texture when you sweep,
Sweeping that away to be released,
Spending time and spaces that call to you,
Again,
Whether it be due to pain,
Trauma,
Experiences that you no longer feel serve you,
Which require you to release,
Allowing extra time in the spaces that call forth,
Sweeping from the top to the bottom,
Allowing all that doesn't serve you to be released through the bottom of your pelvic floor,
Out to the earth to be recycled and renewed,
To grow once again into a new life force.
Breathing deeply as you sweep,
Allowing your diaphragm to fully expand down into the hearth,
Into your pelvic space,
To help the sweeper sweep and release,
Allowing all that no longer serves you to be let go,
With love,
Without judgment,
Knowing at one point it did serve you,
But now you're ready to move on,
Spending any extra time in spaces that call to you,
Noticing what comes up,
What you can release,
What perhaps isn't quite ready to go and why that is,
Allowing yourself the sweeping motion,
The releasing motion of all that no longer serves,
Knowing that like your ancestors,
You're sweeping your hearth,
You're creating new space,
Space that will allow for creativity,
For life,
For the fire,
Knowing this fire will burn within that space and allow you to move forward,
And if there's pieces that aren't yet ready to go that need to be in that fire,
That's okay,
You can come back to them later,
For the fire is the place of healing,
The place of growth,
The place of life,
We're just creating space for it,
Breathing that in,
Allowing for that space to be created,
For that fire to be lit,
To shine forth in a way that can be appreciated by not only you,
But all those who love you,
Allowing this space.
And when you're ready,
You can put aside your broom or instrument that you use to sweep,
Observe the space clean and ready for smoldering,
Ready for growth,
Ready for fire,
And slowly moving away,
Back up towards your heart space,
Noticing the warmth that is now held there,
Breathing in at your heart space,
Allowing the diaphragm to fully expand down into your hearth,
Into your pelvic floor,
Into that space,
Feeling the connection and alignment of all the chakras,
Enclosing that space,
Allowing yourself to bring back your awareness to where you are now,
And when you're ready,
Wiggling fingers,
Toes,
Shoulders,
Arms,
And opening your eyes,
Coming back into now,
Knowing you can revisit your hearth and sweep once again.
I hope that serves you.
