Resistance to experience is suffering. The antidote is to simply allow everything to be as it is. Let's practice this together, and then continue as we part. Even the rainiest of days can be encountered gracefully.

Allow everything to be as it is.

Everything you feel.

Everything you hear.

Everything you think.

Everything you remember.

Allow it to be as it is.

All the phenomena of your present experience.

And anything that cannot be categorized as phenomena.

Allow it to be as it is.

Whatever arises in the mind.

Or some lack of arising in the mind.

Some quality that you would prefer,

Which is not present.

Allow it to be as it is.

Craving or aversion.

Allow it to be as it is.

Judgment or non-judgment.

Allow it to be as it is.

Liking or not liking.

Allow it to be as it is.

Aiding or hindering.

Allow it to be as it is.

Welcoming or fearing.

Allow it to be as it is.

Loving or hating.

Allow it to be as it is.

Allowing or not allowing.

Allow it to be as it is.

This allowing is self-compassion.

As long as you discriminate between one thing and another that arises in your experience.

You will never be free.

This does not mean that we act out our hatred.

For we always have the freedom to choose how we respond to stimuli,

Either without or within.

But in order to know freedom,

We must allow everything to be as it is.

In doing so,

We divest the mind's activity of its power over us.

And thoughts,

Emotions,

Experiences and sensations become like the weather.

In this,

We become like the experienced traveller.

Ready for any conditions.

Able to work with them.

And neither complaining about the heat of the sun.

Nor the gust of the wind.

Nor the pelting of the rain.

Nor the bitter cold.

Indeed,

Like the changing conditions of the weather,

The self-aware human experience is marvellous in its variety.

May we all enjoy its beauty.

I found this to be beneficial. After losing my 12 year old daughter, the allowing part is the work. It’s on a level not many people can ever comprehend. Your pace combined with the words, ring true. πŸ™πŸ»

Wow, just tuning into the slow pacing of your words, I became peaceful in accepting the circumstances that caused my (unaccepting then) feelings of anxieties and scatteredness. Now I can truly say that the storm was temporary and have passed. I am ready to go into my day, calm. Many thanks, Marietjie πŸ΅πŸ™πŸ΅
