Wacom,
I'm so grateful you've chosen to give yourself these next few moments.
Today,
There's nothing to solve,
Nothing to fix,
And nothing to achieve.
This meditation isn't about forcing yourself to relax.
It is about allowing your nervous system to remember something it may have forgotten.
How to feel safe.
Because stress isn't just something we think.
Stress is something the body learns.
Every deadline,
Every disappointment,
Every difficult conversation,
Every season of survival,
Leaves little traces inside the nervous system.
And over time your body begins to believe that this level of tension is normal.
Your muscles stay contracted,
Your breathing becomes shallow,
Your thoughts become louder and louder.
Your heart beats just a little faster.
And cortisol,
The hormone designed to protect you.
Never fully switches off.
Today,
We're gently changing that pattern.
We're not fighting your body.
But we are becoming the safest place it has ever known.
Take one slow breath in.
And inside out.
Again,
Breathing in calm.
And breathing out everything that is no longer needed.
Once more,
Long slow inhale.
And gentle exhale.
Feel the surface beneath you.
Feel gravity supporting every part of your body.
There's nowhere else you need to be.
Nothing else deserves your attention right now.
Only this moment.
Only your breath.
Only you.
Bring awareness to your forehead.
And notice if you're holding tension there.
And without trying,
Simply imagine warm sunlight melting every tiny muscle.
Your forehead softens.
Your eyes become heavier.
The muscles around your jaw begin to let go.
And your tongue rests naturally.
Your neck softens.
Your shoulders begin to drop.
As if they finally received permission to stop carrying everything.
And feel that softness slowly flowing into your arms.
To your elbows.
To your wrists.
The palms of your hands.
Every finger relaxing.
Now your attention moves into your chest.
Notice your heartbeat.
Whatever rhythm it's in,
Allow it.
You don't have to change it,
Simply tell your heart,
I am here.
Imagine your breath gently surrounding your heart.
Like warm light.
Like every inhale creates space.
And every exhale releases tension Now bring your awareness to your lungs.
Without forcing the breath,
Allow each inhale to become just slightly deeper.
And each exhale slightly longer.
Your exhale is a message.
Every long exhale whispers to your nervous system,
We are safe now.
Again,
Slow inhale.
Even slower exhale.
Notice your ribcage expanding.
And then softening.
And then bring your awareness to your stomach.
This is where so many of us unknowingly hold fear.
Pressure.
Control.
Responsibility.
Imagine placing a warm hand over your abdomen.
Silently repeat.
I release what no longer serves me.
Again,
I release what no longer serves me.
And feel your belly becoming softer.
Gentler,
More open.
Your digestive system slowing into healing mode.
And your body remembering that it can rest.
Now move into your hips.
In the pelvis,
The place where so much emotion can quietly settle,
And allow the breath to travel there as well.
With every exhale,
Imagine heavy stones gently dissolving into warm sand.
There's nothing to push away and nothing to force.
Only softening.
Relax your thighs.
Your knees.
Your coughs.
Your ankles.
The soles of your feet.
Every muscle,
Every cell.
Every fibre receiving the message,
You are safe.
And now imagine your entire nervous system.
Not as something complicated,
But as millions of tiny streams of light flowing throughout your body.
Some are moving quickly,
Some feel overstimulated,
Some have been carrying stress for far too long.
Now imagine above you.
A beautiful golden light.
Warm.
Gentle.
Healing.
With every inhale,
This light slowly enters through the crown of your head,
Flowing into your brain.
Bringing peace to every thought,
To every worry.
To every mental loop.
It flows through the centers that have been producing stress hormones.
Gently calming them.
And your brain begins to understand.
The emergency is over.
The danger has passed.
There's nothing you need to survive right now.
There's only this breath.
Only this moment.
And only this life.
And the golden light continues into your throat.
Continues into your shoulders.
Into your heart into your lungs and into your stomach.
And every organ begins working from a place of balance instead of urgency.
Imagine the cortisol gently washing away,
Like leaves floating down a quiet river.
No force,
No resistance,
Simply flowing out of the body.
And with every exhale,
More leaves drift away.
More tension dissolves.
And more space opens.
Your body remembers what health feels like.
Your immune system begins to restore itself.
Your digestion awakes.
Your muscles soften.
Inflammation settles healing begins.
Not tomorrow,
Now.
Silently repeat,
My body knows how to heal.
Every breath restores balance.
I am teaching my nervous system a new way to live.
Peace is becoming my new normal.
Stress is no longer my identity.
My body deserves rest.
My mind deserves quiet.
My heart deserves peace.
Now imagine yourself 3 months from today.
You wake up feeling lighter.
Your shoulders are relaxed.
Your breath is effortless.
Your mind is quiet.
And this constant tension you've been carrying has softened.
Oh,
And can you see you smile more?
And you sleep more deeply.
Your body feels stronger.
You react with calm instead of overwhelm.
Your nervous system no longer expects danger around every corner.
Notice how this future version of you moves.
Walks.
Breathe it.
Speaks.
How do you respond when something stressful happens?
How do they care for themselves?
How peaceful do they feel inside?
And now gently merge into that version of yourself.
Feel what they feel.
Borrow their calm.
Breathe it in,
This calmness.
And borrow their confidence.
Breathe this confidence in.
And show your body what it feels like to be confident.
And borrow their peace.
Breathe in peace.
Because this version is in someone else.
It has always been you.
Your body is simply remembering the way back.
Take one final slow breath in.
And breathe out with complete ease.
Notice the quiet.
Notice the spaciousness.
And notice the softness within you.
Beautiful.
Carry this feeling into the rest of your day and every slow breath you take from this moment forward will remind your body you're no longer surviving.
You're healing and healing is becoming your new normal.
