Hello and welcome to this new moon meditation.
The new moon marks the beginning of the lunar cycle,
A cycle that takes 28 to approximately 29.
5 days.
Because this is the beginning of the cycle,
It is a perfect time to become more introspective and intentional,
Particularly with new projects or setting goals.
However,
This meditation can be used at any moment when you're looking to set clear intentions.
I invite you now to settle into your body and to settle into your mind.
That can be done by finding a comfortable yet supportive position,
Whether that is seated on a cushion with your hips propped higher than your knees or lying flat on your back,
Maybe having a pillow under your knees or under your neck.
The key is to find support in whatever position your body is asking for today.
During this meditation,
You can keep your eyes open if that is what you wish or you can close them now.
At your own pace,
Begin to deepen your breath here.
It may be helpful to notice the change in temperature as air flows in and out of your nose or maybe noticing the sensations as your belly rises and falls.
When you deepen your breath,
You deepen your capacity to sit with feelings and thoughts that may arise during this meditation.
That is completely normal to get distracted,
To have ideas or to-do lists pop up or even physical sensations in your body.
When this happens,
All you have to do is return back to your breath.
Take a moment once more to notice where your breath is traveling within your body.
Once you've found a rhythm,
I invite you now to reflect on these last four weeks.
It is possible there were some highs and some lows.
And some lows.
That is all in the cyclical nature of life.
What were the challenges that you experienced this month and overcame to get to this moment?
What were the lessons and the tools that you acquired with this new acquired information and experiences?
How can you use this to inform your future,
To help you grow in new ways?
If you had a hard time answering these questions or did not find an answer that you were looking for,
There is no need to worry.
Allow some time for your body and mind to inform you.
It is possible to get the answers later today or in a few days or even weeks.
Your body will reveal the answers that you seek when it is ready to receive.
