Welcome back.
My name is Laura and this is Cultivate Your Wellness.
Today's meditation is a practice in staying present.
We will practice connecting with our body and our being through the breath.
I hope you find it as an opportunity to relax and explore the deeper parts of yourself in the here and now.
If at any point you want to dive deeper on your own,
I encourage you to pause the video.
There's no right or wrong way to do this meditation.
It is your own personal experience and practice.
Let's begin.
Beginning to find some stillness in your body,
Allowing the limbs to feel heavy,
The face to soften,
The belly to relax,
Becoming aware of any physical sensations your body might be feeling,
Closing the eyes if that feels comfortable for you,
Or finding a gentle gaze at the floor in front of you,
And giving yourself another moment to just settle in.
Beginning to bring your attention to the breath,
Inviting in some length to the inhales,
The exhales,
Feeling your chest as it expands and contracts,
Looking on with curiosity at any sensations that may arise,
Settling in deeper to the space the breath creates,
Settling in deeper into this moment.
There is nowhere to be.
There is nothing to do.
Leave all your plans for tomorrow and the memories in the past.
Join with yourself in the here and now.
Thoughts may arise.
Look on them lovingly and let them go.
Practice the art of staying present.
Each time you realize you've become captured by a thought,
Just smile and return your attention to the breath,
Following it as it begins and ends,
Watching its continuous rhythm,
Its constant flow.
The breath is a pillar of your existence.
Follow this life force.
Observe where it goes.
Watch what it uncovers.
Beginning now to bring your awareness back,
Back into the space around you,
Bringing a little bit of gentle movement into your body,
Taking in a long,
Cleansing inhale and a slow,
Releasing exhale.
When you're ready,
Open the eyes.
Thank you,
Thank you for taking the time to meditate with me,
My friend.
I hope you'll return again soon.
Bye for now.
