Begin this meditation by imagining yourself looking up at your favorite tree.
You can be standing,
Sitting,
Or lying down.
Relax your jaw,
Your shoulders,
Any place you're holding tension.
Your concentration is now on the tree.
See yourself connecting with this special tree in a way that is meaningful to you.
You are able to touch the tree,
Lie down under it,
Hug it,
Or simply admire its majesty.
As you establish this relationship,
Consider how this tree is drawing energy from the earth.
The tree is giving that same energy to you,
My dear friend.
We often seek out trees for shelter during inclement weather or for shade.
But trees do so much more than provide protection from the elements.
They live with us,
They breathe with us,
They sustain us.
Take a few moments to simply breathe with your tree.
I invite you to imagine yourself being barefoot under the tree,
Absorbing the energy of the earth in the same way the tree does.
Trees have long been seen as symbols of strength and stability.
As you connect with your favorite tree,
Feel that very same strength and stability in yourself.
You are rooted in the earth,
Yet reaching upward.
Winds,
No matter how harsh,
Make you even stronger.
Sense your strength.
Feel the tree returning your love and gratitude,
Because it truly is.
Sense your strength.
Hold your favorite tree in your mind,
As you begin to come out of this meditation.
At your own pace,
Invite subtle movements into your toes and fingers,
As you stay rooted,
Yet reaching for the sky.
Whenever you need to feel strength and foundation,
Whenever you need to feel strength and foundation,
Call your favorite tree to mind,
And stand just as majestically as it does on the earth,
My dear friend.
The crow flies from me to thee,
To send the message,
Blessed be.
Stay rooted,
But keep reaching.
Namaste.
