Welcome,
To a meditation for embracing magic within the Mabon Apple Orchard.
Begin in a position that is comfortable for you,
Either sitting or lying down,
Allowing the body to sink into the earth and be supported by the earth.
Close the eyes and allow them to soften.
Be comfortable,
Making any adjustments you wish.
Relax the shoulders,
The arms,
The hips,
The back,
The knees,
The ankles.
Allow the neck and face to soften.
If you feel any tension or tight spots in any part of the body,
Take the awareness to that body part and consciously relax that body part.
Release the excess baggage of any stress or worries you might be carrying,
For you will not need them on this journey.
Always know that you are in a safe environment and sacred space.
Become aware of any external sounds you can hear in this moment.
Start by focusing on the most distant sounds,
Moving the attention from sound to sound without labeling the source and without judgment.
Simply allow these sounds to just be there.
Now visualize the body lying on the earth,
The parts of the body touching the earth,
The entire body being supported by the earth.
Now move the awareness from the external sounds to the sound of the breath as it flows freely and naturally between the nostrils.
With each inhale,
The body is becoming more and more relaxed.
The body is becoming soft and calm.
Allow this feeling of relaxation to grow inch by inch throughout the body.
We will now deepen our relaxation by bringing peace to ourselves through mindful breathing.
Inhale to the count of two,
Exhale to the count of four.
Inhale,
One,
Two.
Exhale,
One,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Do this several times.
Inhale resilience.
Exhale that which seeks to weigh you down.
In your mind's eye,
See yourself in an apple orchard,
A place of rest and shelter.
You immediately feel a warming energy here,
A connection to peace,
Protection,
And renewal.
The sun is shining,
But it isn't too bright.
The temperature isn't too hot or too cold.
It's just to your liking on this beautiful autumn day.
You are in a safe haven of flourishing apple trees,
A grove that is also filled with wisdom and divine knowledge.
Perhaps you hear birds singing,
A few leaves rustling in the breeze.
Allow these sounds to simply be there as nature welcomes you into this tranquil space that is adorned with the most fruit-bearing trees you have ever seen.
You are safe here.
You are welcome here.
You are wanted here.
Spend a few moments now finding comfort and rest in this visualization of yourself inside this protected and sacred space.
You bring your awareness now to several trees before you.
Between the trees is a wooden table that has been set up as an altar.
In the center of that altar is a large plate.
Upon the plate is an apple that has been cut in half at the middle.
You look closer and see that the seeds naturally form a perfect five-pointed star,
The pentagram.
You recognize this formation as a symbol of higher knowledge,
Representing the elements of earth,
Air,
Fire,
Water,
And spirit.
Beside the plate is a large round basket that is overflowing with apples.
You move closer to the basket,
Fixing your gaze upon this bountiful offering from nature.
Apples are considered to be a gift of the other world.
Since ancient times,
They have represented immortality,
And their magical properties include love,
Protection,
And longevity.
You gaze upon the apples to choose one of them.
Perhaps the apple will choose you.
After a few moments,
You pick up one of the apples.
You hold it in your hands and visualize it filling with your intentions.
Mindfully and peacefully,
You whisper your intentions to it.
After your intentions have been set and you have given thanks to nature,
You begin to enjoy eating the apple at a divine pace.
A gentle breeze flows through the grove.
In it,
You hear the heartbeat of nature telegraphing a message of peace to you.
With your intentions set and your mind,
Body,
And spirit nourished,
You give thanks to nature again before beginning your journey out of the orchard to return home.
Bring your awareness back to the breath,
The natural,
Quiet breath going in and out of the body.
Maintain awareness of the breath and feel it growing stronger and steadier.
Take a slow,
Conscious,
Deep breath in and let it go completely.
Allow the mind to become external now.
Shift the attention to sounds within this room.
The sound of the breath.
Sounds of the earth.
The sound of my voice.
Be aware of the sounds around you.
Be aware of the body.
Be aware of the breath.
Begin to invite subtle movements into the hands and feet,
The fingers and toes.
Perhaps you will choose to stretch lightly.
Do what feels natural and comfortable to you.
Take another deep breath and release it slowly.
