Here's a short compassion practice to navigate challenging times,
Loss,
Grief,
Trauma,
Pain,
Or suffering.
Breathe softly in and out of your nose and allow the awareness of your breath to become the focal point or anchor of your attention.
Take a moment to acknowledge,
Look at,
And think about the conditions of what is happening in the world right now,
Bringing to mind the loss,
The grief,
The pain,
The trauma,
Or worse that has been experienced.
Take your hand and place it over your heart.
How does your heart feel?
Thinking about the conditions and what is happening in the world,
Bring to mind someone,
Something,
Or people that are experiencing pain or suffering.
As you bring them to mind,
Quietly say or offer any or all of the following phrases,
I care for your pain and suffering.
May you be held in love.
May you find and live with peace.
May you be free from pain and suffering.
When you're ready,
Slowly release the phrases and offer a gentle smile to yourself.
