Hello,
And welcome to this talk on energy maintenance for empaths.
My name is Anna Kondrueva.
I'm a licensed therapist,
A meditation teacher,
And an empath.
In this talk,
We will explore auras,
Chakras,
And meridians as they relate to empaths.
Empaths are individuals who have a heightened ability to sense and feel the emotions,
Energies,
And even physical sensations of those around them.
They don't just observe someone else's feelings.
They actually feel them as if they were their own.
The empath's ability to sense all the energy around them and their desire to help others create perfect conditions for unconscious merging between empaths and the people around them.
The problem with unconscious merging is that empaths pick up the energy bits of others,
Particularly those bits that others do not want,
Like pain,
Sadness,
Fear,
Jealousy,
Anger,
And so on.
This is why understanding and maintaining the energy system is so important for empaths.
At the most basic level,
We are all energy.
The human energy system is like a multi-layered tapestry,
And in this talk,
I am going to simplify it to make it easier to understand.
Our energy system is comprised of three main parts.
We have an aura,
A chakra system,
And a meridian system.
Each part is important,
Has a purpose,
And contributes to our health and well-being.
The aura is a multi-layered sphere of energy that emanates from your body and interacts with the atmosphere of the earth and of other people.
One explanation of auras is that they could be the electromagnetic field emitted by the individual muscle cells that make up our hearts called myocytes.
When electrical signals spread through the cardiac myocytes,
They generate a current flow,
Which produces an electromagnetic field.
The heart's magnetic field is considered one of the strongest in the human body,
5,
000 times more powerful than that of the brain.
Empaths may be particularly reactive to this electromagnetic field because they have a hyperactive mirror neuron system.
Mirror neurons are brain cells that react both when a particular action is performed and when it is only observed.
For example,
Mirror neurons would react in the same way when you are eating food and when you are only watching someone else eat food.
In simple terms,
For non-empaths,
The boundary of the aura can be seen as a solid line.
Their aura contains its own energy and is an enclosed system.
For empaths,
The aura has a dotted line as a boundary.
It's permeable.
Their permeable boundaries allow them to easily merge energy fields with different people in their surroundings and even across distance.
When merged with others,
Empaths experience all of the other's energy as well as their own.
Empaths often retain the negative pieces that their friends and loved ones don't want to face or process for themselves because empaths are healers that attract energy that needs healing.
For cleansing your aura,
You can use breath work.
For example,
Breath of fire is a very effective technique.
This is when you do quick,
Forceful exhales through your nose while your stomach moves in and out like a bellows.
The inhales are passive.
They just happen automatically right after you do the forceful exhale.
You can also use meditation and visualization to cleanse your aura.
You simply visualize your auric field and imagine cleansing it with divine light.
Energy work,
Like Reiki,
Done either in person or virtually,
Can also help keep your aura clear of other people's energies.
You can also smudge yourself with sage or Palo Santo smoke to cleanse your aura.
Finally,
You can ask a higher power to cleanse your energy field.
This higher power could be anything you believe in,
Like universe,
Source,
God,
An ascended master or a spiritual guide,
Or even your higher self.
Let's practice this right now to see how it's done.
First,
Close your eyes and take a deep breath in and out.
Now,
Just for a few seconds,
Feel your energy.
Notice whether it feels light or heavy.
Good.
Now,
Use whatever higher power feels right for you.
I am going to use source,
And repeat after me.
Source,
Please remove from my aura whatever does not belong to me.
Source,
Please remove from my aura whatever does not belong to me.
Source,
Please remove from my aura whatever does not belong to me.
Fill me with new light,
Love,
And power.
Thank you.
Take another deep breath in and out.
Once again,
Feel your energy now.
Notice what feels different,
What feels lighter.
And now gently open your eyes.
You can use this practice whenever you need to quickly cleanse your energy field without resorting to a longer visualization practice or breath work.
Now,
Let's talk about chakras.
Chakras are energy centers,
And there are hundreds of them in and around our bodies,
But we will focus on the seven main energy centers.
Chakras covering sets of emotions and organs or body areas.
They can have various levels of activity,
And their flow is important to our health.
Chakras affect both our emotional and physical well-being.
If they're blocked or unbalanced,
We can experience anything from tiredness to severe health issues.
In neuroanatomy,
We have plexuses,
Which are branching networks of vessels or nerves.
These can include blood vessels,
Lymphatic vessels,
Or axons outside the central nervous system.
We also have glands.
The seven main chakras correspond to specific plexuses and glands within the body.
The seven main chakras are your root chakra,
Which is located at the base of the spine and around the perineum.
And that corresponds to the inferior hypogastric plexus.
This chakra is all about grounding,
Stability,
And feeling safe and secure in your life.
The sacral chakra,
Which is located about two inches below the belly button,
Corresponds to the lumbosacral plexus.
This chakra is about sensuality,
Passion,
And creativity.
It's the center of emotional expression in the body,
And thus a really important chakra for empaths that is often blocked.
The solar plexus chakra is located right in your solar plexus,
A few inches above the belly button,
And it corresponds to the celiac plexus.
This chakra is the center of confidence,
Manifestation,
And personal power.
Those three are the lower chakras,
Which are more connected to the earth,
To the physical aspects of us,
And to our emotions.
The fourth chakra is the heart chakra,
And it's located in the middle of your chest.
It connects the lower chakras to the upper chakras,
And it corresponds to the cardiac plexus.
It's considered to be the center of love,
Empathy,
And compassion for others and for yourself.
Then,
The upper chakras contain the throat chakra in the middle of the throat,
Which corresponds to the cervical plexus.
The throat chakra is about self-expression,
Communication,
And authenticity.
The third eye chakra in between our eyebrows,
Which corresponds to the pineal gland in our brain.
This chakra is focused on intuition and self-knowledge.
And finally,
The crown chakra is located at the top of the head and corresponds to the pituitary gland.
This chakra connects us to the divine.
The upper chakras tend to connect us to Source or the universe,
And they are all about a spiritual connection,
Intuition,
And a deep sense of knowing.
Empaths tend to be more balanced in their upper chakras than their lower chakras.
They connect easily to energy that comes from a higher power and from other people,
But have a hard time staying grounded and connected to their own bodies and emotions.
To balance chakras,
You can use meditation,
Visualization,
And breath work.
Reiki is another fantastic practice to keep the chakras healthy.
Chakras can also be balanced by eating healthy foods,
Engaging in physical exercise,
And spending time in nature.
Finally,
You can use sound healing to balance chakras by using specific frequencies attuned to each chakra.
For example,
The root chakra responds to music tuned to 396 Hz.
The sacral chakra,
417 Hz.
The solar plexus chakra,
528 Hz.
The heart chakra,
639 Hz.
The throat chakra,
741 Hz.
The third eye chakra,
144 Hz.
And the crown chakra responds to music tuned to 963 Hz.
I have meditations to balance each of the seven main chakras attuned to the right music frequency on my Insight Timer profile.
I also have a course on chakras with affirmations that you might find helpful.
The last component of the human energy system is the meridians.
This is a concept from traditional Chinese medicine.
The meridians are what acupuncture is based on.
Your body has 12 main meridians,
Or energetic passageways,
That pass through the top layer of skin and fascia and through which your qi flows.
Qi,
Of course,
Is the universal energy.
Qi is the Chinese name for it,
And prana is the Sanskrit name.
So you can think of meridians as 12 different extension cords plugged in end-to-end and intertwined.
If you were to unravel them,
They would form one big circle.
According to Chinese medicine,
Different organs and meridians are connected to different elements,
Specifically wood,
Fire,
Earth,
Metal and water.
Empaths tend to be most connected to the element of earth because earth is connected to the emotion of empathy and compassion.
In our bodies,
The earth is represented by the stomach and the spleen.
So empaths who are imbalanced there tend to have digestive issues,
Issues with managing blood sugar,
Issues with stamina,
And issues with getting easily overwhelmed.
Meridians are the most insular part of our energy system because they run our energy and do not pick up other people's energy first-hand.
They can,
However,
Be affected by energy brought into the aura that has entered the chakra system.
For meridian blocks,
You have the following options.
Acupuncture Acupuncture or acupressure is a classic technique to work with qi blocks in the meridian system.
You can even mention to your acupuncturist that you are an empath and that you struggle with taking on other people's emotions.
Meridian massage This is a technique that consists of tapping,
Pushing,
Pinching,
Stretching,
And kneading on the body along the meridians to get the energy moving.
And finally,
EFT tapping or emotional freedom technique tapping is a technique where you tap on certain points on your face and body to get energy flowing through the meridians.
Putting all of this together As an empath,
You should have a regular practice of meditation,
Visualization,
And breath work that focuses on your aura and your chakras.
You can do a quick technique in the moment where you ask a higher power to cleanse your aura.
And you should also do regular maintenance with acupuncture,
Energy work,
And something like EFT tapping.
I know this sounds like a lot,
And it is a lot.
But I promise you that as you learn to become a more skilled empath,
You will need less energy maintenance because you won't be merging with people all the time.
Keep listening to these talks to learn more.
And make sure to check out my meditations for empaths.
Thank you for listening and for honoring the beautiful,
Sensitive soul that you are.
Remember,
Your empathy is a gift to the world,
And caring for yourself ensures you can continue to share it from a place of strength and wholeness.
May you continue to shine your radiant light on everyone around you.
Namaste.
