Welcome to your session today.
Today's session is a little bit different in that we will spend a few moments getting grounded,
Doing a little bit of emotional exploration,
And then there will be journal prompts.
You will have four different journal prompts to help you navigate this feeling of anger that lives and breathes inside each and every one of us.
After each journal prompt,
There will be music.
Let it play.
Let your mind wander as you write down your thoughts into a journal,
Onto a page,
In a note file on your phone,
Wherever it is that you can record,
How you're feeling,
What you're thinking as it relates back to these journal prompts.
I invite you to close the windows of your eyes and get nice and grounded with your body and your breath.
As you do so,
Placing hands over heart,
Taking a big breath in and starting to consider the notion of anger.
Notice when I say the word anger,
What bubbles up inside of you?
What physical sensations are you feeling there in your body as you start to bring anger to the forefront of your mind?
Take note of them.
And if you can,
Start to locate anger there in your body.
Maybe there's a certain area that it attaches itself to.
Anger will have roots in other emotions and we'll explore that today through some reflective writing.
If you need to come back to these prompts at any time,
Please know that that's okay.
You're welcome to come back here and do this work over and over until your unraveling is done.
The process of emotional exploration is never fully complete.
As growing and evolving human beings,
It's something that we are always striving toward.
Take a couple more breaths in and out.
Maybe pressing those hands against your chest and feeling your heartbeat.
And when you feel ready,
Allowing the windows of your eyes to come back open,
This is the time to grab your journal or paper,
Whatever writing instrument you choose.

As you sit and reflect on how it feels in the body,
Where it lives in the body,
The other emotions that are attached to it,
What can you learn from your anger?
And your second journal prompt.

Our emotions tell us incredible things about who we are or lived experiences,
What we've been through as human beings.

Like I said,
We all have lived experience.
We all have emotions that happen simultaneously in the body,
In the brain,
In the heart.
If you were to sit down and map things out with anger in the center,
What is anger attached to?

What is anger attached to?
And finally,
How do I wish to use my anger going forward?
You have a choice here to live in this chaos,
This beautiful chaos that anger brings forward with it.
Or to use anger as a propellant forward to show you what you will and will not accept in life.
What will you tolerate?
What will you accept?
What boundaries can you set around this emotion so that you can live a life that is full and beautiful?

Places,
Events,
Emotion.
Sitting with and doing this work will bring you into a new state of emotional awareness.
